Thank you for watching.

This channel features easy-to-understand explanations about treatment and surgery, primarily focusing on cataract surgery, by Dr. Yasutaka Mochizuki, Director of the Mochizuki Eye Clinic Group and a certified ophthalmologist by the Japanese Ophthalmological Society.

What is it like to see while wearing an eye patch after cataract surgery?

Former announcer Ms. Hamasaki actually tried walking outside and going up and down stairs while wearing an eye patch.

Wearing an eye patch makes it difficult to judge distances, and vision in one eye is also impaired. Particular caution is needed on the way home on the day of surgery, especially when encountering unfamiliar places with steps or crowds.

We hope this will be helpful for those who are about to undergo cataract surgery or those considering accompanying family members.

Clinic Director: Yasutaka Mochizuki

For approximately 10 years, I have been involved in the diagnosis and surgery of various diseases, including corneal and retinal diseases, tumors, and glaucoma, at major hospitals such as Kyushu University Hospital. I specialize in retinal and vitreous surgery, and at Kyushu University Hospital, I served as ward chief and outpatient chief, leading medical teams to tackle complex cases. I have also dedicated myself to the development of new treatment methods and clinical research, and as part of this, I obtained a doctoral degree for research on "Evaluating adjunctive surgical procedures during vitrectomy for diabetic macular edema." I have presented my research findings at domestic and international academic conferences, striving to realize better treatments.
