Many public notices from 2022 show that tourist attractions in Xiangzhou District were forced to suspend operations due to COVID-19 restrictions around mid-2022. This included hotels and tourist sites being shut down by government order as part of pandemic controls.

After that, there’s no record of reopening or renewed promotion for 香洲旅游度假区 — and similar abandoned parks across China largely never resumed full operations after 2022 because of low demand and lack of investment. The resort opened around November 20, 2014 — that is the date reported when the resort was set to open to visitors after construction and investment.

It was actively promoted and operating through at least 2015 onward, with services like parks, hot springs, water world, and transport routes running.

It was still operating sometime through 2018 and possibly later according to travel site listings and visitor reviews.

All of that money could've been used to help the poor, education, infrastructure etc.

This is proof money is only real to poor people

abandoning a $14B resort is just crazy i cant imagine what a loss.

Things I've noticed in these places are, there are no fire sprinklers or even fire hoses. These places would of been death traps.

Great video guys, thankyou for taking the time and effort to make this video , and mean while people in China are homeless due to very high cost of basically everything and stupid restricsions people have to deal with dureing winter. to see this honestly made me cry a bit to see, people have no food or homes and this place just sitting there .
