I want to be direct and say that being there with you was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and translating for people in the park had a profound impact on me. As someone diagnosed with dwarfism as a child, my body wasn’t producing growth hormones. Fortunately, thanks to free healthcare in Europe, I was able to receive early treatment, and it made all the difference. I shared this story with Little Ai during a live stream (you can see it in the video), and she was both surprised and saddened. She mentioned that her dwarfism was also treatable, but in China, the treatment wasn’t free when she was growing up. I realize how lucky I was. I truly believe I made some real friends among the little people at the park; they were simply amazing. I’m so glad you chose this place for an episode, and that I had the chance to translate for you. Also, major credit to your research. I've lived in China for over 15 years, including two years in this exact area—Yunnan province—but until working with you, I had never heard of this place. The same is true for many others in China. I hope your video shines a positive light on this park and helps more people with disabilities find a safe place.

It's amazing the differences in how different cultures treat people of short stature. I'm from the US and had never encountered a "little person" until I met my husband. He's 4'2",  a former circus clown and Ewok in Star Wars Return of the Jedi. I didn't know about these things until we had been together for some time. While not a dwarf, I am only  4'10" so I understand a bit what they go through.  I keep things stored so my husband can reach them, several stools around the house for his convenience.
All I can say is people of short stature are beautiful inside and out. My life with my husband (we've been together almost 17 years, I'm 66, he's 68) has been more than I ever dreamed it could be.

Peter: here for the show
Plowhead: I AM THE SHOW

Respects have to go to the man who built this kingdom for the people who struggled to get a job because of dwarfism.

I just feel so relieved that they can earn money and live a life with dignity now. Btw as a Chinese, I did not know this place until watching this video. Thank you and other Youtubers that visit China and record what you see.

Plowhead is the new attraction in dwarf empire

lol feeding Peter like an exotic animal at the zoo

That is not human zoo, but giving ppl livelihood and self-esteem

Dwarfs Empire offers not just employment but a sense of belonging in a world that often feels too big 🥺🥺🥺

Peter has shown us the other side of him in this episode: gentle, kind, compassionate. different from his usual sarcasm and cynicism, he showed so much empathy and respect to those who are less unfortunate . Thank you for that

"Life's a bitch get used to it, ni hao"
"They probably spotted the lats"

man I love you XD

I suggest to look at the intention and outcome of something in order to determine its nature.
The intention of Dwarf's Empire was to provide people with dwarfism with employment and support, and the outcome did achieve that; freak shows, on the other hand, were intended to exploit people with dwarfism for money, and the outcome was destroying their dignity. In this sense, there is a difference.
It is also discriminatory to dismiss dwarf performances, shows, and parks as freakshows. Honestly, why can't people with dwarfism be good showmen and choose to host their own parks if they want to?

The reason they dont like to be called little person is because in chinese “little person” is derogatory. It calling someone petty.

The best part about this video were the little graceful moments. Being surrounded by children, taking photos with them, translating for them, talking with these people and also capturing how they live. I would say that the sweet little woman is the luckiest out there to have someone to share her life with. And couldn't stop myself from pausing a little and smiling when u said 'This show is giving me goosebumps. ***k i am old now'...Wow... When did adulting happen and why is time running?! You are doing a good job as usual Peter. Even i am overwhelmed at this point.

People calling that place a zoo are stupid. Those dwarfs are happy there. They have a job, a place to live and are safe with their own kind where no one is going to discriminate them hurt them abuse them mock them or even murder them.  It reminds me of the albino village in Africa, where they are safe away from people that want to hurt them for their body parts.

The beautiful young lady that kept saying she was too short to be a music teacher, follow your heart, and do it❤.
Its so sad that being different is not accepted in so many countries.
My husband was best friends with Warwick Davis at school, he was treated the same as the rest of the boys, and they were so proud of him when he made it big❤

Kids went to watch dwarves but the slovakian guy was a bigger rarity :D :D

"Guess the pedophile", it cracked me up. You're are simply the best in finding unknown things of this planet.

This video was a real thought-sparker for me.

I agree with the lady that said the place offered her an opportunity. Western media is quick to judge and criticise based on their standards of morality and human rights. However, most of the people who write these commentaries do not truly understand the problems faced by the disabled in China, and other developing Asian countries. They do not know what it is like to live in a place where the disabled are disregarded, or ignored, due to them being outshined by other developing country problems.

It is places like these that give them the chance to be seen by the world, and a place to work. The only way changes can be made is by one medium - money. Is this something western media wants to give? No, they just write an article, criticise the place, and then done, quota reached, next piece. The businessman that started this place may be fueled by the prospects of money, but at least he gave the dwarves a decent living environment, with their own dorms, and even custom made kitchen spaces. These things are RARE in China, and they'd be struggling in their own homes, even if their parents didn't dump them in a dumpster in the first place.

What some authors have seen but may not know is that the children watching the performance in the video are obviously organized by primary schools or kindergartens to watch the performance. This convenience is a life education class, and it is also a task given by the government to these schools. If They may not be able to earn enough money if they really rely on the market economy. You can see in the video that very few people come at night.
