9 out of 10 I start with the melody and the rhythm evolves around it.

Start with a feeling, rather than an idea and you will never go wrong. 🖤

I feel attacked 😂 absolutely nailed the first 1 minute here 😂. Watching the rest now 🎉

This was really helpful. I didn’t know how to use that mapping system in Alberton. What a difference !

Pulling out all your big guns on this one. Great lesson. It’s so easy to forever scroll through unlimited presets trying to find “the sound” but instead stretch your brain and make the sound you want. Make “your” sound.

That first few minutes is about as good as I've been able to make songs for years 😭

I once got the coolest compliment I've ever gotten by far and that was like 15 years ago. My friend said I was "a beast at writing melodies". It was such a cool compliment. I never thought about it, but I treat melody and rhythm as equally important. Also, a good melody has to have a story or a journey. It has to go out and then bring you back, but it has to be correlated to sound good. I used to just choose notes of a scale, but around the time my friend said that is when I started being deliberate about note relationships in a melody

EDIT: I went back and re-analyzed some of my favorite recent melodies, and they mostly start and end with the same note. However it usually winds up having a different relationship with the last chord than the first so it sounds different while still making you feel grounded

So true. Such a bummer when yoi start out with cool drums and it goes nowhere

Ame - rej is good example of simplicity of melody’s

I've used one note to just get the rhythm down first.it's certainly better than when I didn't.cheers for the tutorials

love this tutorial.. you can apply this to pretty much everything

One of the best ressources in the electronic music world :-)

Really stellar tutorial  mate 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👍🏿

You got me with that midi track because it’s exactly what happens 😂😂😂😢

Incredible—in just a few minutes, you created old-school acid techno sounds.

Make music is different to make a cake with a receipt. This is the magic, there’s many ways to start to make a good stuff

Im so glad i found this video today, i was stuck in front of my computer all last night, my ears got so tired from the groove i had to step away😅
