chain or resolved, including triggered abilities or game effects that would occur as a result of the
execution of the spell.”
Promising Future has to finish resolving all its card text before any other effect, including triggered ones as a result of it, can be finalized (i.e. made choices for).
This means the sequence goes:
- Jayce plays Promising Future
- Opponent plays Barbara -> it’s WYPM effect becomes pending but not finalized; no targets yet
- Jayce plays Aurora
- Promising Future card effect finishes resolving
- Barbara’s WYPM is allowed to finalize on the chain, allowing it to choose Aurora at this point
At least this is my interpretation of what chat’s saying 😅
