Thanks for watching 👍. Who do you think is the strongest professional wrestler of all time?

@williamlawlor7445 1 year ago

Forget about wrestling. He was one of the strongest ppl. If he had stayed in powerlifting he would have being the first to break 2500. It was within his grasp. 1050, 600 plus, 850 were within his reach. Amazing athlete. Rip.

Doug was a freakishly strong man. He was extremely athletic as well. It’s very sad that he passed away.

Doug was a good friend back in the 1980's when he was in Knoxville TN. I remember one time I walked into the gym and he was standing there. He said, " what did you work out yesterday?" and I said, "chest". He grabbed one of my pecs and I thought he was going to pull it off. We all laughed. We had a lot of great times back then. He was a great guy and I'm so sorry he is gone.

Doug Furnas and Phil Lafon (aka-"Dan Kroffat") were a great tag team.

Sat next to Doug at a USPF meet in the early 90s where he was in support of Coan. He was already wrestling at the time, but was cool, down to earth, and took time to bs about powerlifting. Would've been interesting to see what he wouldve done if he continued powerlifting. But made total sense to use his athleticism to make a living in wrestling.

The Furnas brothers afros were even more impressive..

Doug had one of the most beautifully done dropkicks that I've seen along with Tommy Rodgers of The Fantastics.

He makes those lifts like it's nothing. He had more him. He never reached his full potential in powerlifting.

Definitely one of the five strongest men ever to step into the squared circle IMO but he was infinitely more agile than any of the other four

@StrengthUniverse I really enjoyed watching that. Doug was my uncle, I never really got to see too many of his powerlifting videos. We did have some old wrestling videos though. My grandpa and grandma’s house caught on fire and they lost almost everything they had of Doug and Mike.

I believe Doug had more talent than Kaz & Mark Henry the ring for sure..Theres no telling how much weight he would have done in todays equipt bench shirts & squat suits

I remember watching him perform with his partner back in WWF. Despite his immense strength (which the commentators did acknowledge), he wasn’t really pushed as a dominant guy, and didn’t really get that many opportunities to display his freakish strength, which is kinda weird.

I remember him having a beautiful drop kick and devastating German Suplex (his finisher). His partner also had a great finishing move.

Wow! That guy was strong!
It reminds me of a guy that has a channel called Mr Iron Bodybuilding that is very strong that I met!
That guy is very strong too with a really heavy shoulder shrugs, curls, and bench press strength!
He shrugged over 1000lbs!
These guys are out of this world! 💪👍

Great fodder for material, these guys mentioned in the comments are truly greats, glad to see people remember athletes like Ken Patera, Mark Henry, and Bill Kazmier
