What motivates psychiatrists to work with their patients?

In psychiatric practice, treatment and support cannot always save everyone. Sometimes, due to illness, disability, abuse, trauma, accidents, suicide, or family circumstances, it is difficult to recover one's life.

This time, we will discuss how medical professionals and support staff carry on the "regret" and "grief" that patients and those who have passed away experienced.

To prevent the recurrence of suffering, it is important not only to pass on knowledge to the next generation, but also to improve systems in healthcare, welfare, and the workplace, and to preserve the words and experiences of those who have suffered.

Society's understanding of depression, developmental disorders, PTSD, and personality disorders has been gradually changing. Even experiences where we could not fully save a patient can potentially be used to support future patients and prevent relapse.

This is a theme that we would like all those who support someone's suffering—not just psychiatrists, but also psychology professionals, welfare professionals, peer supporters, and everyone else who supports others.
