Yet another low pressure zone may affect the south-east of Australia next week, with downpours developing again this coming weekend after a drier working week ahead.

This week downpours and thunderstorms likely affect Queensland for the first time in a while - we share the latest on that, while another thunderstorm outbreak is expected in SA too.

Temperature fluctuate again, with some shots of cooler/colder air in the mix, especially for south-western WA, and for the south-east (Vic, Tas etc).

The large low forecast 10 days from now is not yet locked in, but is showing up in modelling for the past few days. We'll continue to track it and bring you our latest thinking each day.

We also mention Bathurst - with a chance of heavy downpours or thunderstorms possible through inland NSW this weekend.

Also, for those that ask - Phil says "Hello, Kia ora, G'day" in the intro. 'Kia ora' is Maori for hello/welcome.
