After asking yesterday on my community page whether or not you would like to see the re-review of Rick Stein's Chippy, the overwhelming majority have asked me to post the video. Gutted on this one guys. https://www.youtube.com/@GaryEats/community

I feel sorry for that haddock gave up its life to be mistreated in a bad way

5:00 “No seagulls around, I wonder why” was legit a savage burn 🔥 lol

It’s terrific to hear someone tell it like it is! We are living in a rip-off society and that has to be challenged.

The haddock was cooked then frozen then recooked. That's why it's so dry and that's why you waited so long.

My family had a fish shop for over 40 years in south London as soon as I showed my dad the haddock he said that’s not fresh and has been recooked. Half the chips too, he also said you should tell the customers the scampi is frozen so they know whether to buy it or not. Well done for calling this rubbish out.

My brother lives close to Padstow and drives a taxi and always says never go to that place. The locals avoid it for a reason!

Good on you for taking it back Gary. We are too polite in this country and we need to stand up when things aren't right. Things don't improve if we never complain.

Running a small Thai restaurant we totally rely on consistency every time. Our focus is always on the best we can do every time. A small business always doing our best because we believe in simple customer enjoyment.

No apologies needed Gary. You gave a very honest review.

Ali vs Foreman, Eubank vs Benn and now Gary vs Rick Stein is added to the list of iconic rivalries 😂

You are absolutely right to take it back, Gary. That looked disgraceful. Well done for standing up to them mate.

Only when the food was gone did the seagulls come back. That alone should be a warning!

I know you didn't take any pleasure in having to do that Gary, fair play for returning it. Another honest review as usual🇮🇪👍

This video has consolidated the fact that you are completely honest, fair and  have no bias or prejudgement, yet you are concerned with the rights of every  customer. I appreciate that! Great job Gary - and thank you! Xx

Even the seagulls can’t be arsed 🤣

Gary I watch from Australia and mate, I'll tell you, you feel like the most authentic and caring bloke I've watched in a long long time! You should come on down under and do some videos aswell, I'm sure you can write it off ;)

When someone like Rick Stein puts their name to a restaurant people are going to assume they're going to get a quality product it's only right you give your honest opinion on whether it is quality or not

Gary massive respect for sending that chippy back. It does take a lot of nerve to do that and thank you for encouraging your subs to complain if they are not happy with the serving.

Well done Gary - these millionaire chefs need to be called out for putting their name above the door and just taking the money and ripping people off. This was what I meant about cost and value on your Ritz film. I paid £80 for 3 courses of impeccable michelin star food in surroundings that gave me a memory for a lifetime - and people cry out 'rip off'. NO - £15.95 for terrible fish and chips from a celebrity chef is a rip off - and they are all the same - even this country's greatest chefs Ramsay and Pierre White are guilty. And don't get me started on Jamie Oliver - he should be ashamed of himself for the food in his restaurants - and the way he ruined people's lives by going bankrupt and not paying them. Good for you for calling Rick out on this.
