"Can you get two Louies?"
The more pressing question would be "Oh god, why??"

The only solution in life is to throw a bunch of Louis at your problem 💯

Trying to get this fruit was the time of my life. We will not give up!!! We will get this fruit one day, this challenge made my channel, i won't let myself end it without finishing it!

99 louies in stasis on the ground
99 louies in stasis
take one down and pass it around
98 louies in stasis on the ground

Imagine the devs hard coded it specifically so that the pocked airhead couldn’t go to any outer nodes until the gate is broken…

My assumption is the fruits exist in an indexed array of items pikmin can grab, and so the fruit you want to move gets assigned a node first, stopping it from being bumped through the gate. It's possible that array is static on the level (maybe even something the devs populate in their level editor), or it's possible it's generated at runtime and continuously reordered based on some criteria. If you can find someone who can do memory examination of the game, they could answer core questions like this. That knowledge would bring you much closer to an exploit to get the fruit past the barrier. It's also possible this works differently in the wii & switch versions.
As a hypothetical example, perhaps the end-of-day code looks like this:
1. Collect a temporary list of uncaptured fruit (ListFruit)
2. Collect a temporary list of nodes (ListNodes)
3. Foreach Fruit in ListFruit
a. Iterate ListNodes to find the closest node
b. Move fruit to that node
c. Remove that node from ListNodes

In this example, the key component is the function that collects ListFruit. Finding that in the code and learning how that list is constructed could tell you whether there's things you can do to manipulate its order, such as strategically capturing specific fruits on the previous day before you attempt the exploit. It's possible many objects end up in ListFruit, not just fruit (so it's misnamed in my example), meaning there's something specific that can be manipulated to alter the order.

Schrodinger's fruit

It's a real shame the Louie method didn't work because I think he would totally understand and approve of being cloned and sacrificed for the sake of a big piece of food. It's so crazy that this is still unsolved even with the incredible amount of ammo that has been thrown at it. As an aside though, it is quite fun that we can have 5 Louies. 22:58 You'd be stuck in a froot loop.

Your dedication to this ongoing battle with a Pocked Airhead is admirable. I dearly hope you succeed in a way you deem satisfying one day.

The level of dedication the Pikmin community has towards insane silly challenges like these is amazing lol.

It's hard to accept this as the end of the road when whatever priority order the game uses for spawning fruits on nodes is still unknown... If you can manipulate the order...

So when I thought Louie only knew mitosis in 2 Kaizo... it's actually a canon thing!

the only priority order i can see seems to be how close they are to their original spawnpoint maybe ? That would explain why it is so hard to get the pocked airhead out of this area since no other fruit has a closer spawn point.
Either way im definitely wishing you all to find a way to make this less frustrating by finally getting to legitimately 100%ing a pikmin 3 yellowless run !! This ending is still not as perfect as we all want it to be, and as you said it yourself there is certainly a way that no one has found yet.

21:44 that node is inside the gate, gate mustve been coded to turn off any nodes lapping over it, hence the fruit avoiding the node

18:09 OH GOD NO

Maybe the reason why the Airhead can't go over the gate is because in the Switch verson, whichever fruit reaches a node first, gets priority to respawn there, and this only changes when the fruit reaches a new avaliable node? So the Airhead already spawns with priority over one of the nodes behind the gate, and since it can't ever go on the other side on its own, it can't reach a new node that would free up the three nodes in the gate. Does that make sense?
(Though considering the way the Wayward Moon was displaced inside the gate makes me think otherwise...

what if you fill every node in the level with louie?
