A little background on this film, it's based on The story written by Edgar Wallace. It's a German production which was originally made in German language English version of it which is this. There are about 24 or 25 of these type films that started back in the 1960.
Most of them were all made in Germany but the settings took place in London.
In Germany they're called Krimi films.
Which in English means thrillers.
And Klaus kinski was in many.
In Germany these films are Very popular.

Honestly, is there anything more frightening than a Klaus Kinski peering through your window?

Much better than "decent," I must say. Great story and cast, and some mild twists. Thanks for sharing this one.

Loved it, perfect snapshot of London the year I was born. Imagine being able to drive nr Tower Bridge like that and actually be able to park? The opening scenes are incredible, and the rest is very engaging, reminiscent of the Hammer Horror years.... 😍

I kept waiting for Christopher Lee to turn up, and when he does his face is covered, but there's that unmistakable bass voice.

The initial 8:40 of this well-made movie contains zero dialogue. The screenplay, directing, pacing, acting, and cinematography have to be excellent to make that work, and those crucial aspects of a great movie are perfectly done in this film.

If you think that's impressive, then check out the 1952 movie The Thief, starring Ray Milland. Directed by Russell Rouse, the entire 86 minute film has zero dialogue. Incredibly well done.
