I’m a College student and I consider these videos more important than my Physics lectures
At times, Alex and Dave especially and to a lesser extent Peter seem rather reflexively negative about China, while Europe is sometimes treated a little too dismissively. On both China and Europe, I occasionally get the impression that the discussion relies more on broad assumptions than on a deep understanding of what is actually happening on the ground.
That is why it was so refreshing to have Alvin Graylin in this conversation. He brings a much broader horizon, real experience in both the US and China, and a more nuanced way of thinking about technological competition, cooperation, culture, and geopolitics.
I love the Moonshots team and will certainly keep watching, but I would really welcome more voices like Graylin’s when discussing China and Europe. These subjects are too important and too complex to reduce to stereotypes or simple winner-versus-loser narratives.
