Thru the whole movie Drago was this superhuman and after 2 rounds with Rocky Drago says " He is not human..he is like a piece of iron"

It hits different when you watch Creed 2, and Rocky mentions that Drago broke things in him that never healed during this fight.

Best 2 moments in the fight is when drago says rocky is like a piece of iron..saying he isnt human..and when hes knocked rocky down and rocky got up like it was a slip and drago looked at him and was worried...thats when you knew drago was starting to realise why rocky is the champ....remember drago punched are double the hit power of a heavyweight...thats why drago is shocked..he knows each punch should be hurting rocky..and they aint..

When you think about it drago should be terrified when you know your punches should on paper kill someone and this guys just doesn’t stay down

Tony Burton is an underappreciated star if the Rocky series. A great actor whom I miss along with Carl Weathers. RIP to both of those talented gentlemen.

Also Tony was the fkn man..hyping up Rocky was iconic

What ivan drago said was "He's not human, he's like a piece of iron" badass Philadelphia tough

Stallone, who directed, said his biggest regret with this one was not having Bill Conti do the music, but the way this fight is edited, I think Vince DiCola's music works just fine.

Just goes to show, it's not about the size of the dog but The size of the fight in the dog, Loved all The Rocky movies

"It's about how hard you can GET HIT and keep moving foward!! That's how winning is done!"

For Apollo your best friend..

That last round psychology rocky makes him feel like he his punches aint shit

In Peru, Rocky IV (1985) was perceived as an absolute pop-culture phenomenon and a massive box-office triumph, though it generated a stark division between ordinary moviegoers and intellectual critics.

Unlike First Blood (which was praised locally for its anti-establishment undertones), Rocky IV was recognized by all sides as an unapologetic, heavily inflated piece of U.S. Cold War propaganda. However, the way it was processed by Peruvian society depended heavily on who was watching. The General Public: Pure Pop Culture and Spectacle

For the vast majority of Peruvians, the political subtext was secondary to the movie's sheer entertainment value.

The Sensation: The film became a cultural milestone. The training montages, the electronic synth-rock soundtrack by Vince DiCola, and tracks like "Burning Heart" dominated local radio stations

The Heroism: Rocky Balboa was an untouchable cinematic idol in Peru. Audiences cheered for him not necessarily out of a deep love for American foreign policy, but out of a deeply rooted Latin American affinity for the underdog story. Rocky training in the harsh, rustic snow of Siberia contrasted against Ivan Drago's cold, high-tech, steroid-fueled laboratory made Rocky's victory feel like a triumph of human spirit over artificial tyranny.

2. Left-Wing Intellectuals and Critics: "Imperialist Screenplay"

Peru in 1986 had a highly active, deeply entrenched left-wing intellectual community in its universities and media outlets. For these groups, Rocky IV was viewed with heavy cynicism and outright disdain:

The "Evil Empire" Critique: Critics pointed out how the movie shamelessly cartoonified the Soviet Union. Ivan Drago was written as a robotic, unfeeling monster, and the Soviet officials were depicted as ruthless handlers.

The Peace Speech Irony: The climax of the film-where the Soviet politburo and
crowd magically stand up to applaud Rocky's "if I can change, you can change" speech-was widely mocked by Peruvian political columnists. They viewed it as a patronizing, narcissistic American fantasy where Uncle Sam teaches the rest of the world how to achieve global peace.

The Local Context: Escalating Domestic Terrorism

The film debuted in Peru during a tense period when the local communist insurgent group Sendero Luminoso (Shining Path) was launching devastating car bombs and causing frequent blackouts in Lima. Because of this, the local perception of "communism" was highly fragmented:

For the Peruvian middle and upper classes, the real-world terror of local leftist guerrillas made the cinematic defeat of a Soviet titan like Drago feel quietly satisfying.

For Marxist student groups, the film was a tool of American cultural imperialism designed to make audiences associate any form of left-wing ideology with robotic cruelty.

Ultimately, the ideological debates did nothing to hurt its numbers. Rocky IV packed Peruvian theaters for weeks, proving that in 1980s cinema, hyper-stylized action, montages, and a gripping revenge plot could entirely overshadow political friction.

Sylvester Stallone was injured very badly, because he told the actor playing Drago, to really hit him.  One of the punches hit his chest, and bruised his heart.

Drago’s wife was actually Stalion wife in real life

Something that started in Rocky II was the distortion on the “Rocky” chants, representing his increasing brain damage. So subtle things kkke him saying he has a headache going out to a fight with Micky saying he’s in perfect working condition.

Stallone ❤❤🥊🥊🥊💪💪

I think its says something along the lines of  "its like hitting a piece of iron"

2:38 Drago says, he's not human (rocky) he's like a piece of iron

They no longer go 15 rounds in the U.S.. That ended in 1982 after the death of professional boxer Duk Koo Kim, who died of brain damage after fighting Ray Mancini. Studies showed that most of the severe damage done was in the last 3 rounds. All international professional boxing organizations adopted the 12 round rule.
