I remember in the theater popcorn flying everywhere and everyone shouting at the top of their lungs "GET UP, ROCKY!!!" It was madness! But an experience I will never forget.

I am a grown man. I have seen this movie 100 times since I was a kid. When he raises that belt and says, " Yo Adrian, I did it!" I cry every time. One of the greatest moments in movie history.

An Extra with no speaking lines yelled out: "We LOVE you Rock!" .. Stallone just rolled with it and responded: "And I love youse too."

Technically speaking: Apollo didn't throw or land a punch, only Rocky did. Apollo went down from a punch so he had to get up,but Rocky tripped, he didn't have a count to beat, he could have stayed on his knee and still won because he was, technically, never actually knocked down.

I know it's a movie, but I kind of wish I knew why the ref was counting out Rocky too. Because in boxing the only way a knockdown is counted is if punch is landed. Rocky wasn't punched, so why is ref counting him out? Rocky just fell over. The only reason that I can think of that Rocky is getting counted out too, is that the ref gave Rocky a warning before the last round that if he got in trouble one more time, he was going to stop the fight.

So perhaps since Rocky went down and didn't immediately get back up again the ref assumed that Rocky either got hurt when he fell down, or that Rocky had used up all the energy he had left to knock Creed down. So, he decided to use the 10-count to give Rocky the opportunity to get up and prove that he could continue fighting, and if Rocky and Creed weren't able to then the ref would call the bout a "Draw" or "No Contest."
