One big difference between your test and a real world situation is that your test subject was expecting and anticipating it. A person boarding your boat looking to rob you would not be expecting to get hit with those.

One huge difference from a "real world" scenario, is that he is trained with OC gas and/or pepper spray. The average intruder has never tasted that glory

As someone who has used this in a real attempted break in as well an attempted arm robbery on two completely different occasions it works and deters. I was aiming torso and headshots.

Byrna owner here. I would never bring a knife to a gunfight .. neither would I bring a taser, brick, crowbar, or a Byrna .. I bring my pink Byrna CL, an extra mag, and really good running shoes. (Hoka makes great shoes)

If shots ring out, you have 3 options - run, hide, or fight - PERIOD.
Byrna is for desperate, life or death moments. Fire ALL your rounds if you must, then RUN.
You’ll be home that evening, Not in jail eating mystery meatloaf. You and your family will be home alive. And always have two exit points everywhere you go. Stay vigilant and stay safe.

9:20 Yes, but the thing you need to remember is that the perpetrator won't know what he's being shot with. All he'll know is that you pulled out something that looks like a handgun, started shooting, and now he's being hit and feeling pain. If the perp is in a situation where he can flee, and not get shot anymore, I would be willing to bet that he would.

This almost completely changed my mind on this product, until I realized he wore protective glasses for the chemical test. I feel like the true effects of the product haven't been shown. Based off of how he reacted to it with protective glasses on, I feel like having that chemical exposed directly to your eye ball would be a whole different experience.

It would be nice if you had a person that wasn’t trained and a professional do the test. Combat trained personnel with combat experience understand how to stay focused and use their adrenaline. I did enjoy the video and debriefing.

Wow guys that was amazingly well put together and unbiased presentation! I am a big Byrna fan mostly do to the realism of the launcher combined with the pierce and shoot technology but now I have to admit I have to change my self defense strategy depending on the threat level especially if I cannot count on the chemicals breaking or effectiveness. I really hate the thought of aiming at the face but it is something I’m going to have to start practicing as an alternative. By far this is the best Byrna video on YouTube and I will be sharing it! I liked and subscribed.

Of all the less than lethal tests I've seen, yours is the most realistic and eye opening that I have seen to date on YouTube. I own a Umarex HDP .50 and Byrna LE .68 and keep one in the car and the other at my residence. Make no mistake, I've seen meth heads continue running toward their subject even after being hit with firearm, 9mm, 5-6 rounds. The Byrna's have their place and I keep it in the car to protect myself from potential road ragers or car jackers. They pack a punch. 24 joules in the head will work and keep you out of courts and prisons. Great video, I liked and subscribed.

Fun video, thanks for taking some rounds for our amusement. That being said, non-lethal is rarely effective against an adrenaline jacked assailant and should not be relied upon for stopping a violent threat
