Byrna Technologies now has a concealed carry launcher known as the Byrna CL. Firearms instructor and gun store owner, Frank Latella, puts the Byrna CL to the test. This less-lethal, CO2 powered self-defense gun delivers nearly 42 joules of stopping power at a velocity of 400 feet per second. What do YOU think about the Byrna CL? Drop a comment.

Thanks for taking one for the team.

I ordered the CL-XL because my CDL driving career requires me to drive to states that do not recognize my concealed weapons permit. I think the black Byrna and the way it presents and the sound it makes could easily make an attacker think he's being shot at with a real gun which has the added benefit of a deterrent effect. Thanks for the videos!

Every guy I ever met named Frank was a tough guy and you are no exception! Thanks for taking one for the team!

Solid video. The thing is weapon but also it's good to know where it's limitations lie. Not a replacement for a firearm but just another weapon one can use in certain situations. I'm in Cali and so this is helpful. Key word helpful...I do unarmed security and so it can be a deterrent.

You did bro! Appreciate you taking the risk to show us the real results. 🙏

Thanks for an honest review!! 😊

I admit, I did fast forward for the shot test and I Appreciate Your Courage! And I agree with your assessment that the bad guy would turn and run not Knowing what it is. That's the goal by any means. I am considering one for my Beautiful Wife's side of the bed with the 40 caliber on my side. Thank You Again!

Appreciate you taking one with no shirt to blunt the impact. As a Less Lethal user I also like that tools such as the Byrna fill a niche in self defense. There are more powerful compact launchers but the trigger pull to activate the CO2 in the Byrna platform is unmatched.

I love my Byrna SD and looking to get the CL. Thanks for your awesome video.

I stopped a 600lb grizz with one shot. Shot placement matters.

That looks so painful.

Really appreciate you taking one for the team- I bet that hurt more than you were saying. Good job. While I like the idea of LTL, I'd go with a taser over a kinetic ball. Guaranteed you won't be standing after taking one of those. Thanks again, good review, hope you're feeling recovered soon.

I have the LE model, and just purchased some denser aluminum rounds for the launcher. You’re not going to penetrate on a body shot, but these metal balls could fracture a skull, crush a windpipe, and blow through an eyeball easily. Where it would stop past the eye is unknown. The bone behind the eye and above and behind the ear is very thin, maybe .5 to 1 millimeter. The Pterion.
