Next Ado - THE FIRST TAKE of Usseewa!! 💙

Yay, Kenshi again. Now King Gnu please, I'm begging, I'm so desperate

The guitarist is the same person from music video, Daiki Tsuneta the leader of the band King Gnu, who co-arranged the track and performed the guitar parts.

Hey Chris, Ado The First Take performance just dropped on the first day of 2026, and I think you know what to do =)) Also, I recommend reacting to Phantom Siita too (a music group that produces by Ado)

30 MINUTES LONG VIDEO FOR KICK BACK? MY SOUL IS YOURS!!!!!

間違っていたら訂正してください。どこかで読んだ記憶では、確かこのライブでのKICK BACKは、米津さんが既に14～15曲歌った後に演奏されたと思います。ライブ終盤でもこのレベルで歌えるってすごいことだと思います。

“He’s a distorted witch!” Out of context is kinda hilarious. Lol

There's also a video of ADO singing this song with friends at karaoke.

Yonezu Kenshi is one of those Jpop artist who started as a Vocaloid producer, he's one of those producers who does everything himself, he wrote all his songs and sometime even drew the mv.

Ado also covered Kick Back in a karaoke, it's a casual cover but her raw vocal is so good you should really check it out. (and of course, check out Ado and Phantom siita's the first take performance like everyone's saying)

Thank you for listening to the collaboration song by Kenshi Yonezu and the band King Gnu.
I’m so happy that we can hear Chris’s explanation again at the beginning of the new year.

King Gnu is also a band that makes very interesting music. Their songs, especially SPECIALZ, Hakujitsu, and Sakayume, are very inspiring to listen to. I hope you can check them out someday.

By the way, Ado appeared on THE FIRST TAKE, a very famous music YouTube channel, together with Phantom Siita, a group she produces. It was extremely cool, so I highly recommend watching it.

There are so many things I’d love to hear your commentary on that I couldn’t narrow it down—sorry about that! 😂

Just wanted to say, I totally agree with the "listen to the studio version, learn from that, then listen to the live version to see what's done differently or what there's more of" thing, trying to sing a song I'd heard only the studio version of is way harder than one I've heard both the studio and live versions of, both in terms of how I can understand how to sing it correctly and in freedom of performance, because I've heard different approaches on the same base song and I can keep what I like, adapt, and learn way more from that.

7:07 I thought he was predicting the lyrics

Kenshi also did a live of Iris Out. the video is out on Dec 31

Also I suggest you should open the lyrics for each song, So you can know the word the song is (there’ll be romanjis so don’t worry if you can’t read japanese) for you to explain the technique s in same exact word, and It’s better for viewers to understand and notice the vocal techniques

1:23 bass line is wrote by the guitarist and vocalist of king gnu daiki tsuneta (he also plays cello and piano lol) and you can see him driving the car in the video, he's singing in the live ver. of kickback too with the megaphone

Listening to your interpretation really helped me see how incredible Kenshi’s vocal technique is.
As you mentioned, the person in the music video is the guest guitarist at the concert.  He’s the co-arranger of this song and also plays bass and guitar on the studio version.
He writes all the songs for King Gnu and plays guitar, keyboards, sometimes cello, and also does backing vocals.
The main vocalist of the band studied vocal music at one of Japan’s top music colleges.
You should definitely check out the song “Hakujitsu.”

17:44 this is so real, Chris is so passionate he could barely contain himself...about parkour, probably mostly about his son loving and doing parkour, about music and singing
i loved this part hehe, i love parkour too

次は米津玄師さんの『Flamingo』を聴いて欲しいです。この楽曲は彼の歌の中でも特に特徴的だと思うのでぜひ解説を聞きたいです
