I'm surprised Hidan wasn't a huge Itachi fan. Itachi personally murdering his entire clan is the most Jashin thing in Naruto.

I love how Naruto introduced a literal god who grants functional immortality and once Hidan got beaten they completely threw that to the side only to introduce aliens, shinobi jesus, and shinobi jesus's kids reincarnations.

It's the fact that Orochimaru was never interested in it what so ever. Man spends his whole life studying immortality and ends up working with a true immortal and doesn't stop and ask one time.

The best thing about Hidan was that his god was actually real. He wasn't just killing people for the sake of it with the excuse of god, his god actually gave him immortality which explains why he did it

The only Akatsuki member that was objectively right about his reason for living. It's easy to claim your god is real and he wants you to kill people, but when you have emperacle evidence that you literally can't die, it's some pretty good evidence that you should consider switching religions

Honestly, I love Kakuzo and Hidan together, they are literally soul mates! One does all the killing, the other takes all the money, they can’t kill each other so Kakuzo can use HUGE moves. Honestly, I wish they animate the Akatsuki Hiden manga!

The man who had the power of god and anime on his side.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jashin was an Otsutsuki.

I believe the reason hidan got inmortality is because his reason to join jashinism wasnt to use the God's powers for himself, it was exclusively to serve the God

Hidan got the gift because he didnt ask for it, unlike everyone else who joins Jashin to justify themselves and to get gifts

Actually, I think the Akatsuki sent those 3 because they didn’t have a specific duo that were fully equipped to handle Hidan without risk of losing a member; so they sent Kakuzu, who could be killed without it being an issue as he’d just get up again; Itachi, who would be ideal for suppressing a simple brawler like Hidan with his doujutsu (but not Kisame as he’s another brawler and thus would have to contend with Hidan’s ability, and might take damage or even die); and Konan as perhaps something of a diplomat, as well as a supporting fighter who could avoid giving Hidan any blood by turning into paper. I’d be shocked if the Akatsuki hadn’t done their homework on Hidan, leading them to pick out this team to play on his weaknesses.

You know, it’s kind of odd and ironic how Jashin is a mystery with the only thing we know about him is that he’s a god, it makes him the only being we would actually be okay with or even happy if he turned out to be a Ōtsutsuki and that it would make total sense given the clan’s objective in their existence.

Hidan taking an interest in another's immortality suggests that his own immortality is not just a circumstantial byproduct of his devotion to Jashin.

Hidan is the ninja version of DC's Joker. One very bad day and a series of events led to their insanity and a complete disconnect from emotions.

My headcannon is that kakuzu's greediness was the reason he was sent to fight hashirama. He was too greedy to the point that he wanted all the missions that had really good payments. Then his village leaders had enough of him that they made up an absurd mission with absurd payment (killing hashirama). They knew kakuzu can't win but now they had a reason to kick him out.

After escaping from Hashirama, kakuzu then goes back to his village only to find out that he is being cast off due to the failure of hashirama's assasination. He then Realizes that he was just being setup to fail. Because of this he took revenge to the village by stealing their forbidden justu and taking the hearts of the village leaders.

I want to learn more about jashin I even voted for him for a light novel to learn more about jashin

Theory:

Hidan killed all the other Jashinist and that gave him immortality 🤷🏾‍♂️

I vividly remember Asuma’s death actually affecting me irl. One of the first times a fictional character dying really got to me.

If only Hidan knew about Itachi killing his neighbors

"That's why it's called making peace. You don't make peace with somebody you like"

I always felt like Jashin religion is real, and Hidan is like a chosen prophet the way his life played out seeing neighbors shed blood and kill each other and that not freaking him out then leaving his home after he kills his neighbors. I also think he isn't the only one to have immortality but he is a true believer and that's the only way to obtain it cause everyone else just seems to have some alternative reason to why the look into the religion
