We need a season 8 that’s just grievous vs Jedi without plot armor. Also I can’t take maul seriously from how much of a gigantic stretch it is that he’s even alive. They could’ve easily given his character to savage instead

And yet grievius beat him in a battle

This video is so relatable, after Grievous was shit in the show I searched for another villain and found Maul.Actually they changed Grievous’s arc in unfinished episodes of season 7 that couldn’t make the cut: https://youtu.be/TdaXc2wzwv4
Grievous doesn’t have too many scenes in it but it still depicts him well. The only reason it isn’t perfect is because of Obi-Wan and Anakin having plot armour.

Hearing Grievous was supposed to be in the fight against mall and sauvage oppresse makes me want to commit a hate crime

Nerfing grievous is in my opinion one of George Lucas's few failures. Theres a difference between nerfing a character because he is too Op, AND MAKING HIM LESS USEFULL THEN A DOORKNOB!!!! Im suprised that disney hasnt tried to improve his character yet. LOOK AT THE MISSED POTENTIAL!!!! WHYYYYYYYYY!!! (Sorry for the yelling) #justiceforgrievous

How to fix some terribly written characters: wall of text full of nuances and theories

How to fix Grievous: JUST DON'T MAKE HIM SUCK DEATH STARS!

Maul makes clone wars grievous look bad but what about the 2003 clone wars grievous vs. Clone wars Maul?

9:39 don't think General Grievous surviving would have changed much. Actually I got a cool fan theory that is my head canon which is grievous did survive and started a kaleesh uprising against the empire which failed and forced Grievous into hiding. Theres more to it like his revenge mission against Palpatine and the first order but thats the basics. He survived because the flames never actually hit his organs that hard it just looked really bad because his armor deployed a fire protection system where it started its own flames to drown out the other fire without damaging grievous and grievous simply got knocked out.

For those who cant watch the Clone Wars and don’t understand why Maul was great, watch this uploader’s video it shows all of Maul’s scenes ever: https://youtu.be/0Rk2yD5P59A

But but... George wanted... George...
Nah joke joke. Agree with you 100%. They must have been puffing some good mushroom crap from planet fungus while making Grievous scenes. Sidious better not go to Naboo or Gungans might kick his ass! Maybe they would even best every sith sent there.

I personally think he is the coolest character in starwars.

An alien so ferocious that they made him the commander of an entire army.

He was literally a horror movie villain, used the tactics of fear, hid in shadows and was canalogically faster than the force for a while.

Im running out of things to say about him really other than what a waste, starwars is now just fan-service and doesn't really give any of the 'lesser' characters a shot.

If clone wars 2003 was never a thing I think this could all be forgiven, but when a writer who only went off his design did a far better job, you have to slam the higher-ups a bit.

Every time he did something cool it was ruined,

took over kenobis ship : had to abandon due to it being set to self destruct (making him look a coward after looking so cool)

dueled the nightsisters clan : ended up getting his droids to finish ventress, despite him having more experience and the writers foegetting that ventress only wielded a lightsaber like a few months prior.

kidnapped the chancellor : abandons ship like 10 seconds into combat

What were they thinking, i get he is a joke, but take a hint, a character can be funny for less expense

He couldn’t use 2003 grevious in clone wars because that would have made no sense to why he is so good in clone wars but not in ROTS. But I do agree Dave Flioni could have least made grievous a decent character not a fucking joke and George lucus needs to apologize for ruining an icon.

9:30 WHAT IF? But Star Wars instead of Marvel. I actually want to see this now.

OH Come on guys it wasn’t completely all Dave Flioni’s Fault. I mean come George Lucus did make Grevious in ROTS a pretty shitty villain so he didn’t have much to go off of.

Yeah, I would pay to see Grievous portrayed properly instead of just another mustache-twirling baddie who says “I’lL gEt yoU nExt tiMe” and runs away

The next thing I would add is I would make grevious more honorable he would defeat the Jedi by his own hand not by his droids and not by fucking gun pathetic. He would still hate his droids but for a better reason he would say many times if he had his old Kaliesh warrior army he would win more battles. The last thing I would change but before talking about his timeline is ventress and dooku would show him a lot more respect and fear.

He says all theses great things about maul intal Vader gets involved

This is how I would fix Grevious can’t ROTS because that was part of the prequel trilogy and I have not watched those movies for a really long time only watched cool clips of them so I have not right to judge those movies. But this is how I would fix in clone wars first I would completely redesign the character he would be a combination of the 2003 and movie grievous he wouldn’t be bulky, he would way faster, and would be a little his 2003 counterpart. Also his voice I would keep the voice but just have his but just have voice be a little more threatening his voice is not threatening in clone wars because he fails so much it would be another combination between the 2003 grevious and movie grevious he would still have the same voice but his voice would be a little more deeper a little more threatning. Also he wouldn’t be a coward he retreat if his ship goes down not in middle of fights. He wouldn’t as over confident as he was in clone wars it would another combination between the two greviouses. He would be intelegent, and good planner, and better fighter and that is my next point fighting he sadly wouldn’t be as awesome as fighter as he was in 2003 clone wars it has to be somewhat to ROTS but he would still held his own against many Jedi using similar but less god like fighting methods like in 2003 clone wars. But he would defeat and kill many throughout the clone wars without the help of droids expect Obi wan Kenobi. Kenobi is a great defense Jedi and he did defeat grevious later and I agree with AssertiveDolphin the rivalry between grevious and Kenobi was a good was probably the only good thing about monkey grevious character but I would have grevious defeat and almost obi wan on several occasions and during those occasions during those Obi wan Kenobi would train harder to fight his foes. Making Grevious’s later defeat by Obi Wan make a lot more sense. It also would play in grevious’s ego in ROTS he would would injured which I will talk latter. But he would also rather confident in defeating obi wan I mean he almost killed obi wan before why would he have trouble this time and he would be surprise by Obi wan.

Obi-Wan took Maul more seriously than Grievous throughout the entire show. Grievous only killed one Jedi, and for the rest of the show he was buffed. Darth Maul on the other hand brutally murdered several people in this show. He also ragdolled Obi-Wan on multiple occasions. And while he’s far from the smartest character he’s way smarter than Grievous, in “Son Of Dathomir” Maul lead both Dooku and Grievous into a trap. Darth Maul dose better in his fights, at least he fought Sidious one on one for a few seconds and even landed a kick to Sidious which was pretty impressive. He also fought Mace Windu and Aayla Secura and seemed to have the advantage. They did fight 3 times in the same comic. The first Grievous landed a kick but it doesn’t make him the winner IT’S JUST A KICK, in the second fight Maul literally body slammed Grievous and that was it, third fight he used a powerful force push knocking him out of the fight. Don’t care how many people disagree with me, but after everything Maul has proved he’s up there with Dooku.

Now his legends or canon backstory would stay the same but his introduction would also be the same just little less god like 2003 clone wars but that battle would basically be the same. But now going into clone wars he would most on or off screen or in comics but his battles in the we will see in the show would be the only few times were he sightly loses in the show he can’t win always but he’ll still a good amount of times in the show. His big ship episodes about the big purple blast would basically stay the same the only differences is he would be a better camander and almost kill obi wan. The R2 missing episodes would stay the same but the differences would he would will kill al the troopers expect Rex and almost kill ahsoka even sightly scaring her but escapes not by grevious’s hand off but but by the ship turning off by R2 and grevious lost his grib on her and she escapes from him. Now here is the biggest change the lair of grevious the beginning of the would grevious being scold by dooku for his recent few failures he grevious would say that loses because of the pathetic forces dooku gives him. The beginning of the episode would stay the same but difference would be that Fisto would replace by the  Jedi  master who’s fate undetermined along with nadar they would still be trick and fright grevious but grievous would kill all the clones and nearly the Jedi but they manage to escape grevious for now but while they are further into lair they a journal that belongs to grevious and it would give a short summary of grevious,s life and why he hates the Jedi. Grevious would find the Jedi and kill Nadar but in a more honarable way the Jedi master would try to escape on the Lang plate form but grevious would destroy the ship all by himself and fight the Jedi master they would talk briefly about grevious’s and how he is just a pawn now but grevious would kill the Jedi master and grevious would say he is what the Jedi made him in the Jed’s final moments. He would call dooku about his success and dooku would pleased explaineing that this was all test which grevious past and grevious would say he lives to kill Jedi and the episode would end.
