Chopper would've loved Purple Magic...

Coster's breakdown really hurt to see. He initially comes off as stoic and standoffish, even a bit edgy, but he's actually a deeply sensitive man who's just shy around others. You never would have expected to see him crack like that so early on and I think that really helped sell just how bad this war truly was. It endeared me to him.

"If i burned like a star, would you be my witness?"
DAMN PURPLE MAGIC

The moment when Purple Magic dies and the chorus starts had me feeling emotional asf

RIP Purple Magic, your sacrifices aren’t in vain

- Run the whole game in one shot with emotional ovewhelming so I forgot many mission details.
- Do this mission again just trying to get assualt record.
- Remember what happen when radio chat start.
- My Blue Sky Home came in.
- Pause the game and Cry like a baby.

Can we take a moment to appreciate the whole mid-late 90s alt rock style? This sounds like something I would hear on late night MTV, or in a early-mid 2000s EA racing/sports game. That's awesome. They got the style so well.

Fucking insane this mission takes place before the 1/3 mark of the game like wow

The way it transitions from the rock song into the orchestra a little over two minutes in is just chef's kiss

The back and forth shifts from gritty punk rock to a full orchestra should be studied in classrooms.

This mission was so stupidly amazing. The way the music fades from indie rock to classic Ace Combat orchestra and then back to rock is mesmerizing. This game's OST is on par with Zero and seriously one of the best videogame OSTs of all time.

Their sacrifices were not in vain too, they found the land battleship's weakness (the treads) temporarily stopping it from moving, and some of them even flew into it before dying.
Purple Magic 1: "Now that we're down a guitarist and drummer, this bassist is a one-man band.  So it's time for me to go. That's all. Over an out."
- STATIC -

I genuinely had chills when the chorus hit. Flying over the city at night with missiles flying in the cold winter air, while these dudes are out there sacrificing themselves in the dark and a billion people are yelling over the radio.

<<"If only Wings of Theve had been here". That's all>> This line hurt the most.

Rest in peace Purple Magic, didn't expect this too hit really hard.

Fly on Purple Magic, when the time comes we’ll join you in that endless blue sky.

Lyrics
I'm breathing shallow and my tongue is dry
Become a shadow as my thoughts slip by
Last one in the sun
And still the first to see morning light

My blue sky home
The miles alone
I've fell and flown
My blue sky home

Nobody is coming
Could be my coffin
If i burned like a star, would you be my witness?

[Chorus]
Call me up, I've
Got to feel alive
Call me up high
Set me free to fly
My blue sky home

The resting emptiness fills up my sight
An overwhelming loneliness that bites
I think I'm breaking
Until I let the stillness inside

I'm hearing it calling
No stopping or stalling
I won't explain 'cause words all fail to tell the feeling

Call me up, I've
Got to feel alive
Call me up high
Set me free to fly
My blue sky home

The miles alone
I've fell and flown
Oh, my blue sky home

Call me up
Set me free
(x6)

This song made Purple Magic's death more sad, but it is what makes Ace Combat 8 truly peak. I nearly cried at that part. This song will be one of my most favourite songs in all of gaming.
