A sterilizer can reach full temperature and still not sterilize if air is trapped in the chamber. This video walks through the daily quality checks every sterile processing tech runs before the first load: the vacuum leak test, the warm-up cycle and the Bowie-Dick air removal test. You'll learn why the tests run in that order, what a pass and a fail look like, and what to do when the Bowie-Dick fails. We also cover how these tests fit with physical, chemical and biological monitoring under AAMI ST79. At the end there are CRCST-style practice questions to check what you learned.
