Well, that was just about the best shout-out I’ve ever gotten! What a fun surprise! 🙏 😊 I’m so glad you liked all of the Michigan cherry stuff, and I love that even Ripley liked the blueberries. Great episode showing the entirety of your trip down Lake Michigan, and especially showing that the lake CAN be very placid and benign (since it gets a pretty bad rap from most Loopers, given the time of year they’re usually traveling on it!) BTW, your commitment to staying on schedule with posting videos is so commendable - people think that long days on a boat allow for unlimited time to catch up on things, but it usually doesn’t work out that way. Looking forward to your downtown Chicago episode!

We lived on a 40' in White Lake for a few years and it was so fun to see the lake. We spent many days on the water off that port and experienced some crazy storms. In the winter we would move to a small apartment near the lighthouse. Our kids have some great memories from that time on the lake.

An ongoing depth report several times a podcast would be appreciated IMO. Most don't know depths of the Great Lakes. Max depth of Lake Michigan is 922 feet or 281 meters .

SS Badger is a car ferry that goes Michigan to Wisconsin daily. Cool experience. Keep on keeping on. Great adventure you two are on!

So excited to see you in Michigan, where I grew up. Yes, Lake Michigan can be a bear but as you noted it is beautiful, especially when calm. We will be using your suggestions during our loop next year. I look forward to watching more of your adventure. Happy Anniversary.

Great episode. So cool to see so many places that I love. Saugatuck is our favorite place to day trip down to on our boat. Love walking around down town and looking at all the cool properties on the river there. Glad you enjoyed all of Michigan! Come on back around sometime!

Yay for a new video! I’m thoroughly enjoying watching your Loop! My husband’s family lives in St Joseph, so it’s fun to see that stop on the Loop and it’ll be fun to stay in that area for awhile when we do our own Loop in a few years.

Your Annapolis gold looper harbor host is following. Great coverage on Lake Michigan. Your wonderful videos helps us reconnect to our trip of a lifetime doing the Great Loop. BTW--we are planning to head south with our boat to Charleston and Hilton Head this November.

Montague, across from Whitehall, is my home town, and FYI, it's home of Miss America 1961 (Nancy Ann Fleming ).

I know from my own experience that the channel can be great fun.

Just found your site. Nice to see all the salmon fishermen at the pier heads in Michigan. That time of year. The Badger is not only a passenger ship but also a car ferry. (Used to ferry railroad cars in the old days.) I am glad/sorry you made it to my home area of Michigan City. Wish I could have said hi in person. I was out on the pier last night and going back out weather permitting on Monday. Sail safe. (I have noticed a lot of loopers by-pass Michigan City. It is understandable but I am glad you got some Hoosier hospitality.)
