Oneida Lake is New York's largest inland lake and for many Great Loop cruisers, it's one of the most anticipated (and sometimes intimidating) crossings on the route.

Before heading out onto open water, we stop in Sylvan Beach, a classic lakeside town that's a favorite stop for many Loopers. From there, we make our way across Oneida Lake before arriving in Brewerton, officially saying goodbye to the Erie Canal and beginning the next chapter of our journey.

But this journey isn't just about crossing another body of water. Along the way, we're reminded why the America's Great Loop is about so much more than the destinations. It's the incredible community, the friendships, and the willingness of fellow Loopers to help complete strangers that make this adventure unlike anything we've ever experienced.

If you're planning your own Great Loop, dreaming about cruising America's waterways, or simply enjoy travel by boat, we hope this episode gives you a glimpse into why so many people fall in love with this journey.
