The Egon Chelokian fade in got me

Egon Cholakian is Destiny’s greatest orbiter. Orbiting so close he is in his walls.

Destiny is really in a psych ward and his Psychiatrist is Egon Cholakian

I wanna open a bottle of champagne every time ol dr Cholakian somehow sneaks his way back into a stream

I like how he says the cia is out of control   While pretending that Russian’s intelligence in the GRU AND FSB don’t still commit assasinations and sabotage along with running majority of bot channels on Twitter

Most of the people we are fighting with were never signatories to the Geneva Act because they all torture.  It is all ugly on that side of the world.

Everyone should go watch The Report. It’s a movie adapting the senate investigation into the torture program and it shows direct recreations of the torture methods. It reveals how incompetent the CIA really was. That’s why they did it, they assumed it would work and got fooled by a couple of grifter psychologists

what a lot of people arent going to realize unfortunately is the most compromising, revealing, and flagrantly pro-russian talking point being at 1:36:02 "why is Montenegro in nato, whos gonna invade montenegro" russia. russia is, and or serbia. because russia literally tried to coup the government in a failed attempt in 2016. hes relying, successfully because even destiny didnt catch this, on people's disinterest and lack of knowledge in that region, which also sadly really plays into russian continentalism "irrelevant country" ideology. sadge

Lots of ruski clankers getting overheated by this video.

"Kiriakou's post-conviction crusade to re-write history. His bogus spin comes with a major boon: Money. Money revenue for interviews, from a range of mediums, as well as name recognition for his books. He wasn't the first to leak to the press. An unknown person leaked as early as March 2002.[1] First mention of waterboarding is a May 13, 2004 NYT article.[2] The earliest official confirmation of RDI was Sept 6, 2006 by President Bush.[3] On Oct 4, 2007, NYT reported DOJ opinions and described techniques, including waterboarding, and detailed developments after 2004.[4] [5] He left CIA in 2004, so he was not the leaker. His first contact with a journalist was Nov, 2007. His ABC interview aired on Dec 10, 2007. The first official confirmation of waterboarding came on Feb 08.[6] He was charged in 2012. Indeed, the death blow to his revisionism is himself: In his 07 interview, when asked to describe the techniques, replied, "my understanding is that what has been reported in the press has been correct."[7] Since soon after the raid, he was rotated to another job.[8] On effectiveness, "The threat information that he provided disrupted a number of attacks."[9] Continuing, "The bottom line was, no one wanted to mess them up, no one wanted to get into trouble by going overboard. No one wanted to be the guy that accidentally did lasting damage to a prisoner. It was very clear from the beginning that this had to be done within the rules."[10] Asked about legal rights, he recalled a senior leader saying, "we have to act within the confines of the law. we have to follow this to the letter."[11] Asked if EITs were worth it, he answered, "yes."[12] Asked if he'd use them on another he said, "I would be very tempted to use the same techniques."[13] He was convicted for revealing the name of 2 CIA officers to a journalist in 07/08, discovered by an investigation into how certain names were filed in a terrorist's litigation.[14] [15]"

We do know well about torture. From the CIA, and FBI, and how the programs in the CIA rendered little useful information they didn't get through other sources.
If you already have information, then you don't need to torture someone, to coroberateit just catch them out in lies, and let them talk to much assuming you have less info then you do.

he fence sits over everything but never misses an opportunity to stoke the flame of identity politics. he's so careful what he says then he casually throws out something insane. he shouldn't be trusted at all

Any country in Europe who shares a border with Russia knows Russia havent been up to anything good, even after the wall fell. Even in the early to mid 2000s, when relations was it's most "polite" Russia was still flying planes dangerously close to borders to test response times and sending subs into sovereign nations waters.

The "Russia havent done anything so why the hostility?" is such an american take from the safety of sitting across the pond.

Are we just going to all ignore how fucking crazy it is that Ana had to leave because bombs starting dropping on her city? I guess she's talked about it a lot but there's something so jarring about her, mid conversation, being like "woah, woah, woah, bombs", disconnecting, and the stream just going back to reacting to an interview

he's so vocal about the torture in the CIA. But I've never heard him mention even in passing what the russians do to Ukrainian PoWs. Not even to get the information, just for entertainment. I guess the money is good

funny how that works

Torture was done, even though the results were questionable at best because we were working under desperation and thinking emotionally rather than logically.

Who wants to be the guy who didn't torture the guy who had info on a terrorist attack that happened after the person with knowledge was captured?

It is like saying "why would anyone resist vaccines when it has shown to work?".  We are not always logical, especially when things get political.

“Iran contra affair? Is that a new thing?”

Lol

12:50 torture doesn't work because it fucks up the interrogator's judgement. interrogation already works, as lil bro noted. the point at which an interrogator would apply "enhancement" is most often when the person being enhanced has nothing left to give. they apply violence while looking for something that's not there and people start to make shit up.

Egon Chelokian sends his regards.

When is comes to interrogation the FBI and police method would be the opposite of physical torture it's more about breaking through their mental defenses by using a combined method of techniques, but the basic idea would be to develop an rapport with the target and make them feel like your their ally. The CIA used the same techniques very effectively during the Cold War, but at the start of the GWOT felt that form of interrogation would take too long. The issues with enhanced interrogation was that targets would give any information to make the pain stop sometimes it was accurate but frequently it was false, which then lead to a timely process of vetting intelligence and had the opposite outcome of what was intended. The other issue is that enhanced interrogation places your target into a dehumanized mindset and you have to continue to torture them to get more information, while the other method will frequently lead to the target willingly switching sides and continuing to share intelligence.
