6:00 John Stewart has a unique ability to sustain constructs even when he doesn't have his ring with him. That's why Hal was so surprised. This isn't supposed to happen.

"Mogo doesn't socialize" Is an easter egg referencing one of the many Green Lanterns in the Corps. Reason why Mogo doesn't socialize is cause he's an actual living planet and can't attend meetings & stuff because... He's planet sized😭

Green light, in the context of Green Lantern, is the manifestation of Willpower. There’s actually a spectrum of light tied to emotions, called the emotional spectrum, and the only other color you should worry about right now is yellow being fear. All colors express themselves differently but usually can make constructs that form because of the emotion they’re tied to. So it’s physical willpower that makes them

I read the comics in the 60s thru the 80s, and when John Stewart was introduced in the early '70s he was an architect. He had this intuitive sense for creating complex and powerful constructs. Back then Hal and John butted heads a lot at first, but came to have great respect for each other. I'm already seeing a little bit of that developing in the series. Another GL was introduced in the 90s named Kyle Rayner who was a comic book artist, not at all fearless but very creative. I would love to see them do Kyle. Thanks for putting these up (Lasso too).

I don’t know if you did this or not but I highly recommend watching Superman 2025 before watching either episode 4 or 5 because this show is in the same universe as Superman.

your reactions are dope

5:57 To keep Green Lanterns from “playing God” the Guardians specifically restricted the rings from making living or sentient constructs, limiting them to inanimate objects. That’s why Hal looks confused and intimidated. So two things are special here. John created a living construct AND maintained it after the ring was off. Both of which should not be possible.

As a John Stewart fan, I always thought the will power a black man in America must have gives him the potential to be the strongest Lantern.

There's something with Zoe. I agree she's probably alien, but I kinda think the sheriff might be the manhunter.

Zoe being an alien would also make sense of how she looks so young to be the lawyer's mother.

Zoe is definitely trying to manipulate John for some sinister purpose. Don't trust her at all. Great reaction.

6:00 yes, for a green lantern to use the ring and create constructs they need great concentration and willpower. 10:09 originally in the comics the suits were regular suits but later they became constructs of the ring. 10:36 mogo is a living planet who is a green lantern. he can’t move so he doesn’t socialize unless people come to him.

Are you going to continue with Atlanta?

The "Mogo doesn't socialise" is actually a pretty cool story, and I hope I get the gist right. The lanterns were having a meeting on Oa (the planet of the Guardians the the Green Lantern corps) and one of the new lanterns, who didn't know anything about Mogo, asked why he wasn't coming. They were told "Mogo doesn't socialise". And to explain another lantern told a story.

A bounty hunter or some kind of villain (can't remember exactly) went to a planet looking for Mogo, because he wanted to take down the most powerful lantern. He spent like a month on the planet looking for Mogo and getting into all sort of scrapes and funny little accidents. After some time he finally manages to figure out the planet *is* Mogo.

I'm not doing the story any kind of justice but I would check it out; I think there is a cartoon version that might be on YouTube.

And the reason Mogo doesn't travel to Oa is his gravitational pull would cause serious harm.

John will in the comics is so strong he can create things and give them sentience and autonomy like birds and even people.

Mogo is a sentient planet thats a green latern. It cant come to metings or anything because its gravity is so dense it would deatroy other planets. Think jupiter but alive. Hes actually a paradise planet
