these girls were a different kind of awesome in the 80s!!!

Both of the Wilson sisters are multi-talented. 💯💯💯

I love their harmonies on Dog and Butterfly.

Yes, it’s Nancy and it’s during the time that management thought Ann was getting too large physically, so they brought her sister forward, needless to say it really hurt Ann. The Music industry can really suck, humans can really suck. This was a sweet tune in spite of it’s history. Thanks B.P.💕👍

Yes that's Nancy singing lead.  Ann was the lead most of the time ... but Nancy could hold her own.  This song was actually Heart's first #1 song on the Billboard charts : )

My mom has dementia. Music brings her back to us. This is one of her favorite songs.

This song caused a small rift between the sisters for awhile.  This was the first song that Nancy sung lead on and it was their first song to go to #1.  None of the ones that Ann had sung lead on before this had gone to #1.

In the 80’s Heart were often at odds with their record label, who wanted them to record pop songs by other writers. But Nancy Wilson jumped at the chance to record These Dreams because it was co-written by Bernie Taupin, Elton John’s lyricist.  This was a #1 hit in 1986. When Ann and Nancy harmonize it’s just magic.

Fun fact: When Nancy recorded this, she had a very severe bout of the flu, but managed to work through the recording process, and it came out beautifully.

I was in Jr. Highschool in a nightclub where our school organized the party to crown our queen so me and my friends agreed that whoever didn't get a girl to dance with us would pay in a painful way.  So when I got the courage asked the prettiest girl I saw who wasn't dancing and she said yes.   We started dancing to "Into the Groove" by Madonna and when it ended the first notes of These Dreams started... SLOW dancing, it was another ballgame.   So we both stopped and looked each other kinda worried, so I had to ask if she wanted to continue dancing and she said "yes" so held her hand, placed the other one by her waist and slow danced to this song and two more afterwards.   Whenever I hear the first notes to this song I get transported to that memory right away.

Black P, whether you realize it or not, you are creating!!  You are creating a fresh perspective of music that me and my generation have enjoyed for many years.  I totally enjoy looking at “my music” through your eyes!!

This is first time I realized Nancy sang the beginning of These Dreams. Wow! That girl has rasp! They're both amazing. I love this song!

Nancy is also an awesome guitarist

Ann black hair. Nancy blonde hair. This was in the 80’s , sounded different, but in no way diminished their sound. Was in the synthesizer era where everyone had to use one. Nancy sang lead but Ann was in there too  giving us some harmony.

Best song by Heart in my opinion is Magic Man if you haven’t heard it yet.

Your next listens should be Straight On and Dog and Butterfly. These songs really highlight both Ann & Nancy's vocals and their amazing harmonies.

If you haven't done a reaction to Alone, you need to.

Nancy's voice is beautiful! It's funny that she had a cold when she sang this, that's where the rasp in her vocal came from. Producers loved it, and so do I. But apparently, even though they wanted her to replicate that voice on future songs, she was never able to.

"These Dreams" was Heart' first #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 on March 22, 1986

Rabbit hole alert.  You Need to hear Wilson Phillips 😊 Carnie and  Wendy Wilson.
