As someone with a degree in engineering, I can say that he complicated things a million times over.

They could have simply made a simple engine-like design with a crankshaft, using magnets instead of cylinders.

I do all manner of silly stuff on trailmakers like developing extended travel independent suspension capable of smoothly handling enormous jumps but being soft enough to go crawling with and stable enough for hard cornering. You seem like youd be fun to hangout with and just go full creative mode
