Most quotes from games/series are paraphrased for quality purposes

In this video we explore how Eggman's words, often misconstrued as a mere threat, actually function as a warning to Sonic the Hedgehog, a detail that adds depth to the gaming narrative. This video essay examines how this interpretation, alongside other key quotes, recontextualizes Eggman's character across 30 years of games.

I think eggman IS both the secret hero of the franchise and the only character Who IS self-aware and knows what Sonic really IS, because he and Sonic understand themselves better than anyone since 1991 and eggman IS the only one honest in that relation

You gotta remember that one quote in Sonic And The Black Knight. Sonic admits he can't be the hero all the time. Not saying that he'll be pure evil, rather he does something that NO ONE agrees with.

This reminds me of what Joker said in 1989
“I made you and you made me”

Eggmans's warning summary:
You can't run forever, hedghog.
You need me as much as I need you, hedghog.
to end me, you would have to become me, Hedghog.

I can see the parallels between Sonic and Goku. They're not bad guys, but they're definitely not totally altruistic. They'd both risk something major just to have something to do, giving them a selfish side.

I feel like it's both, your point, and what the fandom originally thought. (He has a heart of gold... and he knows he needs Eggman, too...)

I'm gonna need sources of the specific moments you speak of
I don't remember the vast majority of anything you mentioned ever happening

Could you at least show us when he has said it in the games, comics or shows so we don’t have to go scavenger hunting for it

A toaster oven made the thumbnail. Some of the lore here is wrong, so it makes you wonder…🤔

Sonic is what it means to represent the concept of "ADVENTURES", it neither is good or evil but what it means to keep the plot moving without eliminating all evil.

I'm gonna be honest, i never heard these lines in any of the games, so i don't know where you pull these lines from

Even if Eggman died there would be a likely outcome: Neo Metal Sonic’s return as the ruler of the Eggman Empire, every fight against Sonic, every idea, every attack would be to preserve the old legacy of the Sonic vs Eggman rivalry

Eggman didn't die at the end of Forces to be revived by Sage. Sage died and Eggman revived her, until The Final Horizon where she didn't die at all. What are you talking about? And Sonic doesn't run. He hops on the Tornado with Tails, Knuckles, and Amy.
