Watch the extended Versions, its a must!

'Halfling' is just another term for Hobbits. Probably because they're roughly half as tall as the average adult human

The ring grows in influence over time.  Bilbo has had it for more than 60 years.  Golum had it for 500 years.

“That guy is gonna be a problem” is WHY one has to walk into the extended editions

Watch with subtitles on. Helps a LOT with the names

Aragorn is not the son of that king, just a distant descendant, 3000 years later.

Halfling doesn't mean he'd be half of any different race than Hobbits. Halfling is just a nickname for Hobbits because of their size. Half as big as humans or elfs.
About the timeline (because you thought, Aragorn would be the son of Isildur, who cut the ring from Saurons hand. Remember the beginning : 3000 years passed between that war scene from the beginning and this actual plot we're watching. There have been lots of generations in between.
This means that Elrond is older than 3000 years as he was there when Isildur found the ring. That's because elfs are immortal as long as they don't die while fighting.
In fact Galadriel is the oldest of those who are in this movie. Her daughter was the wife of Elrond, so she is the grandmother of Arwen who herself is older than 1000 years.
You really should watch the extended version, lots of your questions would be answered. And be assured, you'd miss a lot of important things that are necessary to understand the whole movie series.
Thanks for this video and I'm looking forward to see you watching the next one, extended of course.
Greetings from Germany ✋

"Damn whats up with all these big mfs?" They are normal sized my guy, its the Hobbits who are tiny 😂 Love your enthusiasm

-"legolas is kinda bad-ass
-LEGOLAS  : Hold my beer....

1:15, “What does this ring do?”  Galadriel JUST told us. About rings in general, and Sauron's ring specifically. “For within these rings was bound the strength and will to govern each race.”  And then, “The Dark Lord Sauron forged a Master Ring to control all others. And into this Ring he poured his cruelty, his malice, and his will to dominate all life. One ring to rule them all.”  It pays to listen closely to what is being said...

Just two words of advice...EXTENDED VERSIONS!!!

I LOVE watching people discover this story. I knew everything that was going to happen when I saw these in the cinema, and I can only imagine what it's like to be surprised. I even auditioned to be an extra, but my height was too average – they wanted short people for hobbits and tall people for elves and humans. Enjoy these films and my homeland!

25 years later and Boromir's death still makes me tear up, IMO one of the best deaths in Cinema.

I suggest you watch these with subtitles. Some people are much more geared toward visual learning and you will remember better. That’s not a slam, years of teaching.

Galadriel was one of the Elves that recieved a ring.  Frodo tested her against the power of the "ONE" ring.

Boromir was never a bad guy. Just another victim of the ring. He is my favorite. He was a true hero.😢

"Halfling" just means half-size -- in this world it's an old-fashioned name for a hobbit. The orcs and that whole enemy army was instructed to "capture the Halflings and bring them back unhurt"; Saruman was looking to capture Frodo, and they don't yet know that they have the "wrong" hobbits, but that's keeping Merry and Pippin safe for the moment.

You wondered if a lot of years had gone by when Frodo saw Bilbo in Rivendell.  In the movies only a few months have gone by, in the books, 17 years had gone by between the time Bilbo left on his adventure and Frodo saw him again in Rivendell.

The whole movie was shot in New Zealand. Hobbitons still there, its a tourist attraction! The Green Dragon pub is there, too.

FYI A halfling doesn't imply a mixture of two kinds of races. It is just a single race of humanoids in Tolkien's fantasy world. Halflings stand about half as tall as normal humans and have relatively large feet but are otherwise physically similar to humans. Halflings also tend to get along better with other races than most other races do. So they have a reputation for being friendly and good-natured. This is different from elves and dwarfs, which have different heights and body proportions  relative to humans, longer lifespans, more extreme cultural specializations, very ancient traditions, and tend not to get along as well with other humanoid races.
