Best video tips for this area! The number of videos i went through and so many wanted to give you the walking tour itself and no tips, do 's or don'ts or any of the necessary items you need! Thank you for understanding the research process and delivering so much of what i was looking for!

Great tips and detailed information on Ephesus. This is a great help as we plan a cruise visit in September.

We loved this port……we, too, went to Ephesus and Virgin Mary site……the cruise tour took us to the rug exhibition which became a high pressure sales gig……I saw this developing and we were able to duck out once they started converging on the crowd. I tell everyone to beg out of the rug part, especially if it is downtown. To eat, go a few blocks into the town, don’t eat by the port at the restaurants with photos on the menu.

Thanks for that- the footage was excellent. You were very honest about the complications and cost- think I'll take the cruise line excursion as I'm a solo traveller!

Thank you for the valuable tips; We travelled to Cairo, which was extremely tough regarding the hustle.

I can’t remember how much our tour that included Ephesus, Mary’s house, and the Basilica of .st John,, + dinner cost. This was an incredible trip, included all of our entrance fees and dinner. Our guide took us to Mary’s house first, which was pretty quick because it was early. Ephesus is always busy, but still we were in great shape. I consider is one of the best Royal Caribbean tours we have take. We are not Catholic, and Mary’s house really appeals to Catholics. I would have been ok taking a pass on that.

They have still live performances at the amphitheater at Ephesus, including world famous singers including opera.

I would do a Viator tour!

Best way to avoid the hard sales pitch regardless of where you are in the world is say no, a firm no. Also, don’t go shopping near cruise ports or very touristy areas, all they see is a sucker. This doesn’t matter where you go in Europe.

I appreciate the info! I was thinking of booking exactly the same tour thru Viator. The price I'm seeing is $130 (for 2 of us) for Ephesus (and the museum), the Virgin Mary's house, and of course transportation, if that helps anyone. I'm definitely going to do this thanks to your video! P.S. - where did you get that $10 meal? My husband is Middle Eastern. He is going to LOVE haggling with them. He tries to do it here even though he's been here 30 years lol.

The music in the background made it incredibly difficult to understand your words in many moments. Overall good advice. Thanks for sharing!!

Two things, Ephesus is in Asia not Europe. They take euros as foreign currency because they get a better exchange rate than USD.
The stock video of the taxi driver is some random Indian guy and definitely not a picture from Türkiye….taxi is Turkish is Taksi, there no X in the Turkish language.
