Shocking Reaction to Beastie Boys' Intergalactic Music Video-https://youtu.be/8Y_uf-BRty8?si=MbpqbJaMGw64laKh

Beasties were one of the foundation  groups that helped build Def Jam.

They're absolutely an 80s group.
And 90s.
And beyond.
Timeless.

Their breakout album "License to Ill" came out in 1986, they were HUGE in both the 80's and 90's

This was their performance piped in live for tye MTV music awards, 1 take, 1 record, no beat machine.

The Beastie Boys are My generation hittin' it HARD.....and I'm 60 years old in 2024.  BEASTIE BOYS FORVER 😀

You just witnessed the brilliance of DJ Mix Master Mike (the fourth Beastie Boy) This track was done with NO BEAT MACHINE, other than their voices everything you're hearing came from scratching and cutting that ONE RECORD. Mix Master Mike won so many DJ competitions in his career that they asked him to stop competing so others could have a chance at winning.

Their earlier stuff broke the mold of the day, for that try "Fight For Your Right", you may even recognize it. I like their 80's stuff but I think their best work came in the 90's My favorites are "So Watcha Want" and "Shake Your Rump"

This is the "studio" they started in.  Straight from Brooklyn.  The party doesn't start until the dj shows up.

They were definitely an 80's group. Whoever said that was not old enough to remember the 80's.

Adam “MCA” Yauch (in dark purple) passed away in 2012 of parotid cancer.

Forgive me if someone already pointed this out…
You notice in the video that NOTHING happens unless the DJ is there….hell of a compliment to the DJ.

Beastie Boys are the ones who gave LL Cool J his first beat that made him famous.  On top of that they helped Public enemy get their start because they opened up for the Beastie Boys

‘paul revere’ is probably my favorite beastie boys song. i think it’s the first song on their first album.

BEASTIE BOYS WERE A 1980s GROUP.  They used to be a punk rock band at the beginning of that decade. They eventually started rapping, and the rest is history. Their first song was 'Cookie Puss'.

Paul's Boutique is one of the greatest albums ever made. It uses more samples than any record ever, it was made before the industry caught on to cashing in on that side of things. This is late Beastie Boys, they started as a punk band and got into the rap scene in the early 80's. One of the pioneers of the genre.

80's group, 90's group.  2000's group. . dont matter they drop sick beats like malaria

They’re started in the 80’s

Sabotage, Whatcha Want, Brass Monkey, Sure Shot, Body Movin’,  Shake Your Rump, Hey Ladies, Hold It Now Hit It, Root Down, Pass the Mic.  bangers, every single one!

One of the greatest bands I seen live in the 90's.

The DJ is the musician playing the turntable and emcees like instruments. When he leaves, they are just unused instruments again.
