In this Quick Hit video, we unbox and take our first look at the ‪@BOOX.global‬ Go 6 Gen II. This nice little e-reader surprised me at first glance. While I believe the primary purpose is for reading your books, the pen was surprisingly responsive and the screen quality was very good. All of this is with the caveat that it needed an update, since installed, and needs to have Google Play and apps loaded. Not to mention the pen wasn't sent with the unit and there is nowhere to store it. However, what impressed me out of the box was the snappiness of the device with only 3GB of RAM. Ok, I'm genuinely excited about this now! Not only could it be a great reader, but as a pocket writing tool when I'm out in a giant warehouse... YES! I'm glad to hear that the writing is as good as the Go 10.3 Gen 2! I'm hopeful that the update is to 4.2 as well.

Thanks for staying up late and making this video. I don't know who that David guy is that said you had to do that, but I like him a lot already!!

I have the Go 7 Gen II BW for awhile now. I did not buy the pen because I had the device mainly for reading. I love it and contented without the pen. There's no loss for me.

Hopefully, they make a smaller pen at some point. That would also benefit those with the Boox 10.3 gen 2 who find the pen too thick or heavy.

What is web browsing like? This seems a decent entry point for a intranet website device from my household server, calendars, media player, weather and some basic home assistant stuff I have built in to a locally hosted website. Does it support (within Android 11) kiosk mode? Thus I could keep a browser locked as it is hung in a wooded charging dock on a wall.

I write a lot on my iPad, therefore I bought soft gummi devices you put on the normal tip (specially for the kind of iPad pencil). Zhe make the writing really better, much less slippery. (these "condoms for pencils" 🙂 are easily found on amazon) Unfortunately the don't work on the Boox pencil.

Thank you for the impression! I will likely skip this, as I have a Palma 2 for portable reading. Where small-size notetaking is concerned, I'm holding out hope for an 8 inch device, ideally with EMR, where the pen is not an awkward afterthought.

I have ordered one, the only thing I disliked on the 1st Gen was the slowness. With 3GB of RAM I hope it will be a bit faster, that's all I want. Android 11 is a disappointment, but I only read books, so it should be fine

Yea, some companies usually makes compact pen for their devices. This time again compromises. Onyx is always about compromise. Why can't they make a perfect device.

I wished you had focused more on reading e books, its main purpose. Disappointed you focused on writing on it so much, its secondary purpose. I wanted to see how e book covers and e book text looked in it because that is key for toward buying this product. You are not alone in doing this. Not sure what it is about reviewing E Readers and not showing books on them on YouTube. Very frustrating watching review like that. I know you only did a first impressions but so much of your time was on doodling on it that could have been spent demonstrating the reading aspect of this device. Look forward to you full review that I BEG YOU to show e books text and covers.
