The story from Rob Schneider sums up ol' Steve's ego.

"I just read, the most amazing script I've ever seen."
"Really, who wrote it?"
"I did."

His daughter, Ayako Fujitani is a Japanese actress and screenwriter
She is married to the screenwriter of "Enemy"

I saw "On Deadly Ground" for free due to an event at my local theater. I still wanted to ask for my money back.

There is no YouTube motion picture commentator with a more diverse set of interest than you, my friend. The fact you did a whole synopsis of Steven Seagal is just hilarious. Love your channel!

Whenever I have a bad day, all I really need to do is find any steven seagal video and just read the comments section

18:03: When Steven Seagal did attempt to do comedy, we got his infamous guest hosting stint on Saturday Night Live in 1991, which cemented him as the worst host in that show's 50 year history.  There are countless stories online and videos here on YouTube about that episode and how much of a pain in the ass Seagal was to work with.  Basically, Seagal in the sketches that he would appear in, wanted to unironically show off how much of a bad ass he was.  Like there's a sketch where he plays a father who's intimating his daughter's would be suitor played by Chris Farley.  And the whole sketch (and really the entire episode itself) goes down like a lead balloon because of how uncomfortably intense Seagal was and is lack of willingness to let himself be the butt of the joke.

Andrew Davis also directed Seagal in Under Siege and a Disney classic in Holes

My childhood hero.

It's not a job, it's an adventure (Casey Ryback in Under Siege)

I am 45.  The only Seagal movie I ever saw in the theater was Exit Wounds.  I had seen all his stuff before Exit Wounds.

Opening weekend I went on a first date with a guy and we saw on deadly ground. He thought it was the best fellow of the year! That was the last time I saw him

Steven Seagal's belt is the one Under Siege now...

The reason why Under Siege was so good was because they took Die Hard's storyline and put it on a boat. But they also did it successfully. Also, Steven wasn't the true lead in that film. He may have gotten top billing, but Jones, Busey, and Meany carried that film. There was just as much focus on them a their was on Steven, which was a smart move.

Why is his movies one of the most played on cable TV ?  Every time I flip the channels there is always Segal movies on,  it seems like his movies are still very popular .

I’ll be honest, I’ve always liked Seagal. Not every movie star needs to be this EGOT level actor. And his action scenes are cool. Even for a lot of his bad movies, they are often still enjoyable because of him.

Fantastic. More of these please!

Growing up as a child in the 1990s, Steven Seagal was one of the most popular stars I had heard of at the time. Steven Seagal's career trajectory is easily one of the most extreme examples one can find of burning bright rapidly and for a short time before ultimately flaming out quickly.

22:36: Gene LeBell allegedly once made Steven Seagal soil himself when Seagal couldn't break out of LeBell's chokehold.

There's a very funny interview with Stephen Tobolowski about his experience working with Seagal on The Glimmer Man. He seemed largely bemused.

They did do a good job marketing Executive Decision to seem like a Russell-Seagal movie (I mean, the marketing had Russell upfront, and Seagal at 90% zoom, but it definitely was presented as a dual leads movie) then killed SS off in the first 20 minutes.

"Audiences love me so much they'll see me in anything!"... and in this case, the very pertinent corollary "...and they REALLY want to hear what I have to say in varied arenas outside my strength of kicking people." Man is an ocean in a teaspoon.

Van Damme continues to work even now because he has a sense of humor about his catalog; there'd never be a "Steven Seagal charms Rachel" episode of Friends.

Liked straight away! 👍

This is gonna be GOOOD! 😎😎
