The gearbox does rpm matching to engage the gears, when the rpm matching is insufficient it will result in grinding of the clawcoupling.

Same here, Jogger 1.8 hybrid UK version, same noise at low speeds when changing gears around 30-31 miles per hour.

My Bigster has the same grinding noise. The dealer seems to know about it but tries to avoid the subject. This should definitely be something we as Bigster owners should keep and eye out for. If this worsens during the years of use then it might be a bigger problem.

Will try and get an second opinion from different Dacia dealers.

I really like your videos even tho i dont like dacia the bigster is a wise choice if you want a car that will keep you safe. Drive safe and im a fan of this channel now for more than 12 weeks!

Hello, I am a loyal follower of your plan, since I have been the proud owner of a Dacia duster with identical engine for a week. I have already heard the sound you describe twice. always at a low speed, 50km/h. I am also going to address this at my garage. Greetings and success from Belgium

That gearbox is simple in design like any dog clutch gearboxes. Only issue so far from the older hybrid generation in 1.6 liter hybrid was due to faulty oring, seal mounted in the factory. So that solution is on the market for almost 7 years already.

Castrol 0W16 is the official oil for the Duster and Bigster.

I also experienced this grinding noise, but only a couple of times. Now, after 3,000 km, I don’t even remember the last time it happened, and I drive in the city about 90% of the time. I am using ECO mode in city btw. maybe it helps to avoid this?
My only remaining issue is the rattling noise. Earlier this month, the service pointed towards a bent heat shield located in the engine bay, behind the engine near the wall separating the engine from driver/passenger cabin. I had already noticed something like that I suspected.
They attempted to fix it, and I was leaving the service rattle free, but the noise returned after just one or two drives. In general, I'd say that the rattle returned after high-speed driving, windy conditions, or when going over bumps. Whenever the car dips or sways downward, the rattling becomes more pronounced, which makes me believe the heat shield bends back into a position where it starts vibrating again. I am taking the car back to service as they told me that they could use something to prevent this from happening, but at the time I was there before, there was not enough time to apply that solution (I only came for tire change).
