Error in the video: Ceramic SLT bearings are solid lubrication and stainless races (actually designed to enhance weather protection). Thanks to Chris for reminding me, so definitely not optimal for 10,000rpm bar spins, but they have held up very well!

Your point on customer service and trust is really the biggest issue with Chinese brands right now. Unlike the fear of exploding carbon, which never really materialized, this issue is real. Now that there are so many good frames available, the main selling point will be whether they can be bought under EU law and/or through a trusted retailer. At prices 3-5 years ago it was worth risking getting ghosted, but now it's hard to sell. Just experienced it myself, where I only got an answer after calling the brand out in a video.

Email response from evolve has been nothing but outstanding for me. Prompt response, informative and went out of their way to give me good service. And still continue to as I’ve delayed the handlebar order until I’ve had a proper bike fit.

Was a bit nervous clicking this as i have a Evolve Cima in a work stand ready to build up. Also saved me on a front derailleur backing plate mishap :D

I have one of these. 6 months in and no issues with the battery so far. Everything else has just been superb and the ride has been great! Loving it.

As a rider and my own bike mechanic for 52yrs and also an auto mechanic of 46yrs, including 11yrs for my local autoclub, I continue to love your reviews since I have seen a lot of sloppy shite over the decades on 2 and 4 wheels.

You are from the real world and also are a heavier and taller rider like myself, not just another 'jockey', hearing what an engineer finds, who isn't Hambini, always makes your videos worth watching.

I may not be in the market for what you are riding or testing, but you always include lots of gems worth being reminded of. 👍

I remain so happy to tolerate the "at the time" ever-so-tall headtubes of my Cervélo RS and 2015 R5/RCA twins (220mm & 225mm lengths).

Though I still have the leg length of my previous 6'2" height, adding in FFC posts and 2015 S5 AB-04 bars - now held by slammed 140mm stems while switching from 180mm down to 165mm cranks with QXL chainrings - makes perfect sense to me in 2026.

Finding a Texas-based gen-2 RCA during the pandemic six years ago just worked for me, and then I found its twin for training on.

All you 56cm frameset riders may scoff, but at 1,080g for a complete frameset, I'll just smile at my own 6.8kg RCA build... if I may.

Chinese-built frames? Okay, my RS and R5s both were, but not so for my California-based engineers who hand-laid every RCA. C'est la vie, say I to modern marketing, incremental releases, and the escalating Chinese frame prices.

Should I buy the NOS 61cm gen-1 RCA I've found, still with factory warranty, or perhaps an Aspero to trial some seriously modern width rims and tyres or settle into my maxxed out tyre width with the above limitations? 🤔
