The 1998 draft was the first for Matsuzaka's generation.
High school students of Matsuzaka's generation did not have the right to reverse draft,
so in the event of multiple nominations, the team with which a player would negotiate a contract was decided by drawing lots.

A very tragic incident occurred during this draft.
The head of scouting at one team chose to take his own life.
What happened during this draft?
I'd like to dig deeper into the details.

Please forgive me for compiling a long period of time into one video, which may focus on a biased range of players and topics,
and may contain many of the poster's personal opinions.

Also, when referring to players, I use their full names the first time, and then by their first names from the second time onwards.
However, this is not out of respect for the players.
I just do it this way to make the video easier to listen to.
