Even as an experienced player, I enjoy your videos so please keep them coming. Hope the game continues getting new players. It is indeed a flawed masterpiece, and I think all us Total War enjoyers want is for this series to be preserved and continue having great iterations/flavors, regardless of the situation with Creative Assembly (and honestly, the gaming industry as a whole).

I wouldnt call myself "new" but im bad enough that videos like these are always worth watching to developing battle sense, I wanna play battles without feeling like i need to pause every 10 seconds lol

I find it interesting that in a recent livestream the CA employees straight up said that they didn't intend for players to be using regiments of renown as emergency units and intend on changing it but every player and guide I see suggests using them as such. you can see them cover it  1:01:00  in the Neferata and the vampire counts live stream, so at least for vampire counts there is now unit  caps locked to lord levels but it could be for all factions.

Thank you for these videos man. I like your approach to the game. No exploits, actually playing like a real strategy game. I get bored by people who just focus on beating the game for the sake of beating it.

I've played a handful of playthroughs and I learned you can move through the other stances.   I had no idea.   Thanks for the tips

Appreciate as a new player.

I’ve been playing a little less than a month.  It’s crazy how few actual general guides are out there.  Tons of tier lists, which don’t really make sense to me because it seems different legendary lords buff different units.  Or they’re guides that say do this in your first 10 or 20 turns.  I don’t want someone to tell me what to play and what to do each turn, I just want to know general tips/explanation of game mechanics.  It took me forever to find a video that explained how magic works in this game.   This was a good video.  I’m past a lot of this now, but this definitely would have helped me those first few campaigns.

It wasn't mentioned during the stances section, but one stance which I think is common to every faction is Force March, which increases your movement range with two downsides: any fight that army gets involved in while in that stance will have them start with decreased stamina and the army cannot retreat; a loss will destroy the entire army. Something not covered when discussing the use of Ambush stance and moving a weaker more visible army into the overlapping red area (which for new players: the ambush success/fail is only triggered when an enemy army walks into the small red circle area of your ambushing army) is that if you put that weaker visible army into the Force March stance, the AI is much more likely to take the bait and walk into your ambush because they know that army is tired and can be fully eliminated if defeated.

I’m new to this whole thing and your videos have been very helpful and informative …like I can’t even put on words!!!

You definitely deserve more views man!
Thx a lot

This is very great guide.
I have played few hundred hours in Warhammer 1,2 and decided to play 3 recently. I already knew some stuff but still learn more good tips from video.
Thank you for good video!

I've got almost 1k hours in WH 3 (and who knows how much in WH 1 and 2) but some of these tips are great for revealing less intuitive aspects of the game for folks who haven't been "minmaxing" and really putting thought into what works best. The mentality of putting armies first and using them just to fight / generate resources, not bothering too much about settlement defense, is a bit of an eye-opener and I'm looking forward to trying this out in my next campaign. This is probably why I've always preferred destruction factions as I always felt the need to be more defensive as Order and got frustrated if I lost any territory. Thanks for the fresh perspective!

As someone with 1000s of hours in each of the 3 games, it's still fun to look back at the humble beginnings of learning this mess of a game. I'm glad to see smart/patient gamers picking this up now the sales of part of the franchise are discounted down to the value provided and even lower.

I won with the Vampire Coast and Cathay on Very Hard difficulty, and even I didn't know some of the things you're mentioning.

As a new player yes keep it coming..

I have near 400 hours and still enjoy these videos. I have a few friends who are playing for the first time mostly because of the backwards compatibility they added for Immortal Empires (e.g. owning TWW1 gave them access to IE) Also the End Times and 40k stuff I think shows them that theres a lot still to come

I have 1000 hours in warhammer 3, and another hundred or so in warhammer 2. I still suck lol. I enjoy these beginner / basics videos a lot because it gives me greater perspective to incorporate and improve.

Small clarification for any newbies going through the video - you don't take attrition mid turn. In the example of the mountain pass if you travel out of that area you won't take any attrition, even if you walked through the mountain in normal stance where you would have taken attrition if you'd stopped.

New player videos remain helpful in part because of the poor job CA does in teaching customers how to play their games (shoutout to the warhammer 3 intro campaign which isn't nearly good enough BUT is a notable step in the right direction).

I think the steam sales/discounts paired with the 40k version hype is bringing in new WH fans, including myself (never played TW games and just got the game on steam discount).

amazing video

Ambush stance is so versatile. Learning to use ambushing with scouting (using heroes) plus setting bait (using small armies) is how you can overcome multiple opponents.

Also using multiple lords to attack gives you more chances to acquire rare items when you win.
