I hate the misconception that brave and the bold is this goofy kid version of batman. It's the only batman show that multiple times a hero sacrifice themselves saving the world. Like full-on dead, not played as a joke. Something the supposed dark and gritty versions like new adventures and beyond fakes out on with killing joker or the hawkman helmat implying his death. As a love letter the the golden age of comics it is a little silly, but the writing is often greater than given credit and knows when to get serious

Should we tell him Professor Pyg is a regular rouge in the comics....maybe later.

The Terrible Trio wasn't actually made up. They're characters from the comics and were even in Batman: The Animated Series. They were a very different adaptation, however. They were originally three rich dudes in masks.

Batman Brave the Bold doesn't have a style? If anything it's the show that has the most style. And it being more light-hearted isn't a deviation from Batman. If anything it's more accurate to the Golden and Silver age of comics.

ngl i'm surprised Heart of Ice wasn't the highest rated episode of BTaS, cause y'know, it's a masterpiece

my favorite part about that BTAS is how croc was Batman in disguise and probably was the actual story closest to getting him.

Dang, it’s sucks to hear about your opinions of Batman Brave and Bold. I completely disagree with your opinion of the opening not having a style or identity, the jazzy themes and the comic book pulp style of the backgrounds it screamed to me as the evolution of the Adam West theme.

It broke my heart when you said Batman teaming up with “lame “ characters, I mostly though of it as opportunity to show off why these classic characters had a time to shine, some that hasn’t been seen in decades making their debut on television. And in many was showing off why this characters deserves to be remembered. It’s like a more personal version of the Justice League Unlimited tv show, showing off more of the Dc worlds and concepts.

Brave and the Bold is target towards child audiences more, but it never belittles them, it’s treats them with a respects and shows off characters they may have not heard off from the classic Golden, Silver, and Bronze Age of comic.

Brave and the Bold disrespect is not tolerated. Literally so many great episodes.

Batman in other shows: i know your name, powers, and weaknesses before you do
Batman in the batman: "why aren't you in school?"
"I'm 27"

I like the fact that in The Batman he is excited and protective about being in the League and doesnt see himself as above them

The Batman (2004) started with such an awesome theme. I still can’t believe they changed it.

“I watched one episode of every Batman show”
Me who’s watched all episodes of all of them: “Pathetic”

The Batman had the same art director who worked on Jackie Chan Adventures, that's why they got similar art style and the fight scenes are so crazy and over the top.

Brave and the Bold is lowkey so underrated because it covers all of Batman’s history in comics, both goofy and serious. Plus it introduced me and many other kids to lots of other DC characters who were pretty obscure at the time

Terry mcginnis is the one character other than Bruce Wayne that works as batman, great show great character

The best part of Crok's story. Is that batman telling it means that Batman consideres it the closest he came to getting got

And if you watch the episode he's referring to, yeah, it is. Too bad Bruce thinks that Crock is significantly dumber than he is

“I threw a rock at him”-Killer Croc

you think dr. doofenshmirtz would have a chance in shark tank?

in the brave and the bold episode Martha wayne was voiced by one of the catwomen's from the batman 60 tv show.

Well, you say the og animated series didn't perform well... WHAT? It's precisely the opposite! It performed insanely well! What happened really is that Fox had the rights of distribution instead of Warner, that's why it got "cancelled". But once it happened, Bruce Timm was already hired for the new Superman series, and he was more excited about that at the time. When the performance of the Superman series was strong, he was tasked with a revamped animated series for Batman. As for the artstyle being changed, it had to do with animation consistency. The designs were too complex to have dozens of different studios working on the same show, pretty much every episode looked different somehow. So, they streamlined and simplified the designs to have it look consistent, easier to draw, and in a way that would lead animators focus on the action more.
