Can’t wait for Maven’s next video: Is Stevie Richard’s right about this video?

Short answer,  yes.  Yes he is.

D'Von "are Maven and Stevie Richards right about WWE?"

Everything looks like a bad dance instead of a fight.

WWE doesn't take feedback, they don't care. They do formulas, cost based analysis, AI and coast on their own legacy.

WWE is in Ruthless Depression era mode. A 14-time world champ is taking the help of a non-wrestler wrestling commentator. The year earlier a 16-time world champion took the help of a rapper who had the figure of 16-year-old teenager. Nothing makes sense. They are throwing everything at the wall hoping something gonna stick. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that wwe is in absolute dire state right now.

I miss the rugged 90s early 00 style of wrestling. An intensity, grittiness that has utterly gone from most matches.

There's so many ads for 4 matches

the johnny aces voice always gets me

I quit watching raw even on replay because it feels like the wrestling is just interrupting the ads at this point.  Matches having two 3-minute ad breaks is wild

Hey Maven, Stevie Richards here

I think years from now, WrestleArabia will be marked as some sort of watershed moment.

Dana White said we should just STFU and watch the fights and I feel like thats TKOs whole attitude now. Pay or dont pay, watch or dont watch

For context, scripted promos became a more of thing in 2004 because of Ric Flair. Corporate sponsors were in attendance and everyone was supposed to be on their best behaviour. Flair opened the show and in his promo, he mentioned bleeding virgins. After that, the company adopted a stricter approval process for promos.

“Everybody have fun out there” 😂

The wrestling paint by numbers choreography has become so apparent now. Swinging over the top after an irish-whip, then again on the return, is like dance steps, almost all our doing this thing. I can go on and on, watch a mid 90’s match, with the exception of Eddie and Benoit in RAE in 2000’s. Those matches were tight, it looked like a fight, a real struggle.

Maven's next video: "Was Stevie right about whether I was right about the state of WWE?"

TKO found out that WWE is a cash cow. Now, they are milking it until they twist off the teets.

As a musician who plays in touring/local bands, the stuff mentioned at 9:55 seems like it would be common sense! The fact that even one or two solid merch designs could help generate an additional revenue stream and it's just being ignored trips me out. Like I get that running a merch booth can suck but it's also a great way to meet fans/endear yourself to them which will (generally speaking) make them want to come see your show next time.

It's much like other nerd hobbies like comic books. As the crowd gets older and has more income, the business increases the prices to maximize income. Profits increase, but no new young fans enter the hobby as they are "priced out". Eventually, the rich fans retire or die off and the money stops. With no new fans in the pipeline, the hobby collapses.
