Happy memories of the Astoria 89-90 … Good old days

Trip summer ‘88 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Times of our lives🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Came down from Scotland to the Astoria ❤I can still remember the decks on chains going up and down and people dancing on the balcony railing 😮

Had some E  amazing nights at sin , in astoria

Regular at Astoria….. heartbreaking it’s gone

Never to be repeated, the youth now prefer happy gas and knives

Great days, the West End had an atmosphere then you just cannot replicate.

The Milk bar was mental.

Was a way of life for me from 88-92.. pretty much every weekend.. Friday pick up drugs .. Saturday night through Sunday morning .. Then get your excuse ready to get off work on Monday to recover.

Was a regular at the Astoria, I remember they had wicked dancers in there that took over the dance floor when everyone left near the end and we’d sit there watching them

The fluffy bagel mix of Superfly guy was one of my favourites

Astoria was rockin! Remember the red lampshades

My first ‘drop’ was at the Milk Bar. It changed my life.

Nicky Holloway bad boy on pirate radio one of the pioneers of DANCE culture in London.

I pretty much lived at the Astoria from 88 till 1990 😂

I wish I went to the Astoria back in '88. I was still into hop hop and rare groove (break beats) from 87-88. We used to go to the jazz room at the Electric Ballroom in Camden back then.We also would go downstairs and Coldcut would play a similar mix of tunes to Mark Moore as well as a bit of reggae and dub. Then came the organ funk and wah wah of Stone Roses/Charlatans 'Manchester ' scene for me. Camden Palais on a Tuesday night (only 3 quid I think it was with a flyer?) then proper 'raving raving in 91/92. That's when I went to the Astoria, Rocket Orange nights- mental!). My regular clubs by 92 were Vivid at the Paradise Club on a Friday (sometimes AWOL the next night) and Club Elevation 'Club Da Da'?) off Shaftsbury Avenue I think?? You would get your picture takem each week for next week's flyer!! But the best house for me was the early stuff (Jibaro Electra, Joe Smooth , Jackmaster Farley Funk etc). I just wish I went to the early rave clubs!!

Shoom.
