Can you have a Uromastyx in a bioactive tank? many people believe its not possible because of the high heat and the fact they eat so much vegetation. today I show you my testing and process to solve all those issues!

“Everywhere I looked it said these guys are herbivores”

Morale of the story is do your own research & experimenting. Most of what we are told from the reptile hobby is misinformation. Sometimes you have to just challenge those theories.

But was happy for you to see this new discovery ced 👍🏽

I have seen a few creators who keep Uromastyx whos females are super shy but the male isn't, also seen the behavior of the male bringing food to the shy females in hiding too, its so cool. Never knew their first meal was the moms poo lol.

It's also good to note that buying these plants from a reputable source that doesn't use harsh fertilizer or chemicals is Very Important. Harsh chemical's can be deadly to your reptile.

That is so ideal, that they can freely forage for food at any time. When my aquatic turtles would eat every plant in less than a week, I began to propagate the plants by simple cuttings in 3” pots. They grow fast in the sun in the summer. I kept a tray of about 20 rooted plants to continually replace what they ate. The succulent you have was somewhat slow growing, but there are edible plants that can be ready within 4 weeks.

Omg yeh everyone says they’re herbivores but they absolutely eat bugs too! Darkling beetles are great for them (grow your mealworms/Mario’s on from worms into beetles and give them the beetles)
