“what is the USSR” 🥀

"What is the USSR?" made me feel ancient.

“are they done with their artsy shit” oh boy you have no idea what your in for 😭

‘while my guitar gently weeps’ finishing in the same tier as ‘why don’t we do it in the road’ is genuinely baffling ahahaha

“Martha My Dear… I don’t know where to rank it… let me listen to Wild Honey Pie again” I think you unintentionally made every Beatles fan laugh out loud haha

Props on recognizing the greatness of Rocky Raccoon.

Rocky Racoon is just an absolute songwriting masterpiece. It's just such a well crafted song, musically, lyrically, tonally. And so completely Paul.

Sage, this is the album where the break up began. They were all going in different directions. The songs reflect their individual styles. That’s the true genius of this album. Such a variety and different tastes.

Wild honey pie over obla-di-obla-da is crazy

Happiness is a warm gun is one of the best Beatles songs.  Sensational songwriting by John Lennon

1000 men flock to say 'it's Eric Clapton'

George didn't troll in his lyrics, he was openly spiritual in his thinking.

It was actually Paul on the drums for Dear Prudence and Back in the USSR, since Ringo actually left the band for a short period while they were still early into recording the album. Just goes to show how talented he really is

I'll die on the "o bla di" is a masterpiece hill.

Martha My Dear is written to Paul's sheepdog Martha.

Bungalow Bill actually has a straightforward meaning to it, mocking a tiger hunter they met in India while on their spiritual retreat.

Yeah Martha My Dear was about Paul's dog which is just freakin' endearing as hell.

skip dear prudence made me cry

To answer why the album is so long, there are a couple of reasons. When they went to their meditation retreat in India, they wrote a lot of new music, especially independently. This album is notorious for how chaotic it was because of the band splitting in different directions creatively. Because of this, they all wanted to include their songs. All this new music, though, did help their contractual obligations, which was probably the main reason for the length. In order to fulfill their recording contract with EMI, they wrote a lot of new music as quickly as they could so they could negotiate a new deal.
