This is how i'll be painting my minis going forward. So glad to find this gem!

This is not table top standard. It’s honestly levels above table top standard. This technique is going to be a game changer for getting minis painted to a high standard and more quickly.

i've watched it like five times now, but what happens between minute 2.00 and minute 2.16 is like pure sorcery

Not gonna lie, seeing someone paint miniatures with a make-up sponge feels like a fever dream xD Intriguing!

This is now canon for how to paint Space Wolves

this is now my gospel for painting wolves. Thank you!

5:31 That burnt orange/yellow shoulder turned out unbelievably good, my jaw dropped when the contrast went on! Amazing job!

Thank you for explaining the effect of oil washes so well, the use of the make-up sponges is really well explained and gives me even more courage to use them.
The model looks really great and it motivates me to try something similar.

You can buy large packs of wedge shaped sponges for makeup, get those and a set of hobby tweezers (the kind you squeeze to open) allowing you to use less sponges and have less waste. You can also cut them to very small pieces to do detail work (I'm able to do my highlights on fang necklaces with them and the effect is quite nice)

Also having Flow improver off to the side.  By tapping the sponge first in that it will act as a retardant and prevent the sponge from gumming up when doing multiple models.  Works great when you're doing small areas.  This isn't needed with all paint brands but I've found for some paints with larger pigment grains it's helpful.

And though I like brown as a base coat I've lately started using dark plum by pro acryl as my base shade for the armor before applying anything with a sponge.  Keeping the browns for the shoulders, pelts, ect works well but the purple adds a tiny hint more saturation and vibrancy to the armor in the areas the sponge cannot reach.

That being said your brushwork at the end really elevated the piece and I love how it turned out.  This I'd argue is one of the best guides for showing off this style of painting.

This is not a joke, I used this video to paint Logan, and 5 termies. I won best painted at a tournament with the first models I tried this on. You Rock!

Watching Warhammer painting with a somewhat Diablo II Rogue Encampment soundtrack - what a crossover

you deserver more attention, your painting style is real easy to understand and you show everything how its done properly, the best miniature painting channel i found so far keep the good work up!

Finally a good recipe for Wolves using AK products mostly, this has been something i’ve been searching for for a minute. Love it!

I cant believe how well those makeup sponges work , this a great technique , thanks for the video!!!!

Great tutorial! Especially helpful to see how you did the yellow for the pauldron - I love the gradient it produces and it works great with the rest of the paint job.

That looks so good, I would love to see one for the dark angels

Absolutely love your work! Far better than all those "Tron" highlight figures you see. I used to dry brush my models similar to the way you use the sponges, then use washes. Only thing I never liked was the rust on the figures, never painted rust on mine as in my mind ceramite was ceramic based not iron. I have not painted figures for a long time, 10 to 12 years since. But seeing your work makes me want to get into it again!

Unintentionally, you have saved me from the horrors of painting yellow.

Please please please use this with the death wing!!! This is AWESOME

Do this for a dreadnaught or something bigger. Would love to see how far this can be pushed.
