Man I hope this video doesn't have ducks because I'm deathly afraid of-OH SHIT

The final ending is a reference to silent hill 2 dog ending where you find a dog has been controlling everything in the same room as the dog in duck season

The fact the canon ending happens out of pure curiosity is super interesting to me. Because I know of one of my first instincts in most games when given a gun is "What happens if I shoot this guy?" So obviously the dog's just being a dick about hunting literal kids over their curiosity

People really don't get how different things are in VR. I was blown away with how big things really are when there's almost no separation between you and the game.

12:39 whats creepier about this is that if u continue to watch the looped duck season trailer it eventually cuts to a video of the pixel dog dancing with the text "where's mom?" Aluding that shes dead right behind you, basically TELLING you to look if you havent already

Nothing is funnier than watching a supernatural monster get deleted by conventional firearms

the ending where the dog is revealed to be controlling everything is a reference to silent hill 2's secret ending with mira the dog! james goes into a spaceship and sees a shiba inu controlling everything and says "so it was all your work!" and then collapses to the ground. iconic.

Oh man, never saw that dev clarification; always thought the dog was the dad. I guess I misinterpreted the million sighs pointing to the dad being the dog

This game genuinely terrified me when I was a kid. It was one of my first exposures to "gore" and it was horrifying 😭

"Guy in dog costume arrested for assault and giving a minor without a gun license a gun, oh also mass homecide, but that's more of a minor issue"

12:24 Gosh this scene STILL makes me feel uneasy after all these years, this game was honestly somewhat underrated despite the, unfortunately, short lasting traction it gained. Such a gem along with a classic like Tatteltail imo! So glad you covered it, definetly one of my favorite videos from you keep up the wonderful work it’s genuinely so fulfilling seeing high quality channels grow like this!!

35:50 - I feel if they didn't want people to come to the conclusion of the dog being the dad then they shouldn't have left all the stuff for that specific hidden ending they couldn't make in the game. I really don't see how you can read the "It's Me" tape other than the dog being the dad, but whatever developer it's your series.

I remember watching gameplays and theories about this game back when it was first released. I'm still shivering at the thought 9 years later

I had no idea that where the dog appears in the house is random. The dog can come from the backyard door, the bathroom door, and near the stairs.

this game scared the SHIT out of me when i first discovered it in elementary school, i had nightmares and a fear of this game for like 6 months-- genuinely the scariest and most immersive horror game ive EVER seen

still crazy how much lore is in this game
especially with it being connected to the other games by stress level zero through easter eggs and actual lore stuffs.

I'm so happy to see more people talking about this game recently, it became one of my favorite "Obsessively watched it on YouTube but never played it" games as a preteen, and a small part of me is still legit sad it never got a sequel or something. I'm glad it's getting the recognition it deserves!

24:20 the phone actually wasn't there the first time, this and several other endings are locked on your first playthrough, and you enter new game+ on repeats. Same is true for the golden shotgun shell, which is also is more likely to appear if you shoot fast and accurately. Also, fun fact, if I'm not mistaken, the dog's animation in the stuck forever ending is the same as the one in the nuke ending.
