John Kiriakou, the former officer of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, joins us to continue the conversation we began in our previous meeting.
Did the United States give Saddam Hussein the green light to invade Kuwait? And how does he describe what he witnessed in the region between 1990 and 1991?
Our discussion with John was extensive. Through it, we sought to recount what he saw and experienced as a CIA operative during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait and its aftermath. We also discussed the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq, its consequences, and the prior planning within American political and intelligence institutions.
