Regarding the intention, I think it’s that specific sense of eerie melancholy . I don’t know if you’ve ever seen the Korean comments, but they’re horrifyingly eerie. It’s soooo sad and melancholic. These videos kinda provide an outlet to express that melancholic, eerie, insecurity that Korean people don’t usually talk about with pride but feel so much. It’s like something that a group collective can relate to, it’s so sad.
The idol beauty standart bar is soooo high right now, people used to faint just by catching a glimpse of Yoona from Girls Generation, but if she were born in 2005 her looks wouldn’t be enough to even debut
8:56 I think theyre trying to motivate girls and people to starve themselves and to develop new insecurities they have to "fix" to make them look "better" kinda like toxic motivation but its still messed up
The videos are made because the poster is insecure and depressed. That's it. They want to find community in their insecurity, they want to find peers who relate to them, they don't want to die alone. Misery loves company is the term I'd use for the BP community in general.
hi, i dont know if you know this but the first girl shown in your intro is dust chan. she isnt korean at all, shes a japanese influencer. im a fan of hers and i live in japan.
her makeup is what you would call jiraikei in japanese trend. its different from korean makeup, although it might look the same to you. i just think you should have put jooshica instead since shes korean😅
