"Who's this edgelord?" is my favorite reaction to someone seeing Vamp

@burnin8able 5 days ago

Dave desperately trying to explain MGS insanity in a way that doesn't make him sound completely unhinged as Jonathan gets more and more incredulous is so funny

@dernwine 5 days ago

The whiplash to go from "NOT BECAUSE HE'S A LITERAL VAMPIRE!" to "There's enough detail by the way on the M4 stock..."

I can’t believe the royal armory doesn’t own a METAL GEAR RAY to review the accuracy of it in this video

They didn't even get into the fact that Vamp dodges bullets by telling where the barrel will point ahead of time because he can read muscles. Then he proceeds to dodge them by flamenco dancing, because he's very extra.

In Fallout, if you take both the Lady Killer and Confirmed Bachelor perks, you do more damage to both men and women. This confirms the logic behind Vamp being a terrifyingly effective super-soldier.

"How is he sliding around without spilling that wine"
Nanomachines, son.

"A DUD?!" is probably the one of the greatest lines ever written and performed in any media ever

@VonArmagedda 5 days ago

First second; "Oh for goodness sake!"

Yeah, sounds about right, Jonathan.

If I don't get to see Jonathan react to "A DUD!" I'm gonna be so disappointed.

Edit: THERE IT IS!

I love it when Jonathan makes "learning about MGS for the first time face"

@stunlord 4 days ago

"WHO'S THIS EDGELORD??" is the correct question to ask when Vamp appears

@jeebus2313 5 days ago

"Why does it do that?"

"...uhh..."

Yeah that sums up the latter half of MGS2 pretty well lmao.

Appreciate the extended analysis of Vamp.

Seeing the will to live physically leave Dave’s body when he realizes he’s gonna have to try to explain the back half of MGS2’s plot.

There used to be a term "Vamp" in German which was essentially interchangable with "femme fatale", but that one is derived from vampire in origin as well.

So the heart being on the opposite side to usual is probably one of the few realistic things about this. Its a condition called situs inversus, and it is a very real thing. Famously, Enrique Iglesias has it. There is even at least one documented case of someone surviving a firing squad because of the condition, which is probably where they got the idea from.

This was NOT the first time Raiden had seen real non-VR action. He was a child soldier, forced to fight in the Liberian civil war by Solidus Snake (who later became the president of the US)
