5:54 The creator of the TV show Phineas and Ferb was thrilled when he leaned this. He didn't pick teal for Perry's color scheme for any particular reason, he just liked it, and this tickled him pink when he found out. Bonus fact! Ferb's name was, as many fans suspected, shortened. His full first name...is Ferbs.

Everything in Australia is overkill because everything else in Australia is overkill.

Neurotoxin to the nuts is one of the reasons I don’t go into the bush, with my luck it is guaranteed I would do the same thing eventually

Don't worry about being "good at pausing". Pause whenever you need because you just have to rewind like 10 seconds before unpausing. That way you and your viewers don't miss any information or get something out of context.

People aren't the only animals who log off of God's Minecraft server because of the gimpie-gimpie plant. Horses that are stung by it will throw themselves off of cliffs and other animals will drown themselves or let themselves get eater by a predator.
Parz did exaggerate the timeframe of a Komodo hunt a bit. The blood loss and infection causes most animals to succumb in only four to six days, and the dragon will hound it during that time to keep it moving and bleeding more profusely.
Tapian venom is so potent because the rats and mice have evolved immunity to one or more of the toxins it contains. So the taipan evolved many different toxins so that at least one will affect its prey.

15:55 If I remember correctly. Burning the Gympie Gympie just sends the needles airborne.

I watched Steve Irwin jump on the head of an 18ft crocodile during a relocation 😅 while appearing (and being) super dangerous, his demonstrations at Australia Zoo were the safest interactions he had with animals.

4:29 the whole sweating milk thing is actually pretty fascinating. It turns out that mammary glands, the glands that produce milk in all mammals, are modified sweat glands. Platypuses and echidnas just didn't evolve breasts to contain their mammary glands. That being said, like the mammary glands in other mammals, they are only functional in the ladies when raising babies and are only found on their bellies; meaning that baby platypodes lick their mother's belly to get milk.
Also, to clear up any confusion as to whether montremes like platypi and echidnas are mammals: if it has mammary glands, it's a mammal

P.S. yes, I did use 3 different plurals for platypus. It's guaranteed to piss off someone :P.

Hipopotamus leather whips are used across Africa.

They are sturdy enough to cause an open wound with one hit if I remember.

Unsurprisingly, they became a highly popular torture device.

Australia is so chaotic that the reason "because it's Australia" is very valid and make sense to any of these.

It's not really about them liking the rotting flesh, it's more about waiting until the animal is too helpless to run away or fight back. They do this to avoid putting themselves in danger.

Huntsman spiders are also known to attack, kill and eat funnel web spiders. You remember the Big Boi

Aa someone who's Australian, born and never left Australia for 21 years. You honestly become immune to spiders and all big insects/animals here

Nurgle: plagues a planet
Komodo dragon: Finally, some good freaking food.

29:15 "Komodo dragons are horror villains..."

He's right about wild ones. But dragons in captivity are virtually polar opposites. Being the world's smartest reptiles, Komodo dragons in zoos and sanctuaries are known to BOND with their keepers and will either reject or even chase off anyone they don't recognize. Catch them on a good day, and captive dragons will accept head pats, chin rubs, cuddles, and even kisses without complaint - all with video confirmation if you know what to look for.

47:15 It was on the ceiling, so it mostly fell rather than actually jumped.

Also, their venom isn't harmless per say.  It doesn't cause permanent damage, but does cause pain that can last for weeks.

They also are good for the home because they eat the other spiders that ARE actually dangerous to humans.

Being born in australia is basically spawning in a fromsoft game.
Source - I'm an Aussie.

I love this dragon's chill vibes

on the Gympie gympie plant, to remove the silicon needles you have to either get VERY lucky and they get pushed out instead of grown over; or basically have them surgically removed, but because of how small and thin they are, even modern medical stuff has trouble removing them successfully; i've heard waxing tape can be effective in pulling them out in some less severe cases though (emphasis on heard, no idea how sound that is)

Also yes, Hippos eat meat, they are believed to be primarily herbivores, but more recent studies seem to put them as more omnivore and actively hunting animals crossing rivers;  as a side note MOST animals are neither purely herbivore or carnivore, nature dont care, get your nutrition where you can; Casual Geographic has a pretty good vid on it that is titled "The One Rule of Nature School Never Taught You"  its a good watch overall imo

18:05 That is a cow femur btw.
