As if controlling the hand of chaos, Connecticut quintet Currents balance an inclination for invention with innate intensity, defying expectations and expanding the scope of heavy music in the process. By following an internal creative compass, the group has continued to tread a singular path without comparison. Teetering on an axis of extreme heaviness and transfixing melody, this path reaches another peak on their 2025 EP, ‘All That Follows’, a work that hits hard with ferocious riffs and cathartic choruses, while tackling themes of betrayal and struggle. While performing on Audiotree Live, Currents bring their unrelenting modern metalcore sound to full volume, as icy beeps pulse across violent chugging grooves, punctured by ethereal arpeggios and glimmering harmonics. During their interview with Audiotree Live Host Psalm One, Currents chat about coping mechanisms, their cemetery music video experience, and the creative process behind their sound.
