Hey great channel that you have started. Good name as well. I have been riding ebikes for three years now and I have to say that the Deepower QS7 looks pretty interesting. I am looking forward to seeing more videos.
Thank you so much for your reviews—they’re very honest and informative!
Thanks to you, I purchased the Deepower S8 model, which I received a week ago. This model is very similar to the QS7 with a few major differences: the front and rear brakes are hydraulic, the wheels are spoked (I love this style), and the instrument cluster is a wider rectangular screen. It’s also equipped with two 48V batteries (from LG) : a large one rated at 35 A/h and a smaller one rated at 25 A/h that attaches to the frame (like a gas tank ;) ). Another key difference with the S8 is that each wheel has its own motor: 70 N·m in the front and 90 N·m in the rear, for a total of 3,500 watts—which is a lot! Of course, the S8 costs more—about $1,500—but I think it's really worth it.
Assembly was fairly simple (2 hours if you take your time), and I didn’t run into any problems except for two bent screws used to secure the handlebars, which I had to replace. All the tools are included, and I agree with you that they’re of poor quality.
My impression after my first 50 kilometers is really excellent—it’s a fantastic machine. It delivers on performance, with a top speed of 55 km/h (in unrestricted mode). I still have a lot of kilometers to go to test the range. I plan to ride 50 to 100 km a day. I don’t consider this vehicle a bike but more like a moped.
That’s why, as you explain so well, I’m very careful about safety. I bought myself a real motorcycle helmet and a pair of rearview mirrors (Kemi Moto brand, very sturdy). Unlike the QS7, the S8 doesn’t have front turn signals (only rear ones). It’s a shame, but I plan to add some. Other gear I’ve added includes a phone mount on the handlebars (by Lamicall—it’s great) and a rechargeable portable air pump (Xiaomi Miijia Compact—very effective), since the tires were underinflated when the bike arrived.
My next purchases will be a handlebar bag that I’ll place above the headlight, as well as rear saddlebags and also other protective gear like gloves and a thick jacket. I also plan to protect the batteries with a leather case that I'm having custom-made. That’s my initial feedback—I’m really excited!
I’ve subscribed to your channel and I’m looking forward to your next videos. Cheers from the south west of France ;)
Just picked one up on market place today! Do you happen to know how to set it to MPH? I keep trying to look up videos and googling it but I’m not getting any luck. Cool vid!
